Western Railway - WR Recruitment 2009
Western Railway Application are invited for filling up 02 (Two) posts in Group "C" category in Scale Rs.5200 - 20200 + GP. Rs.1900/- / 5200-20200+G.P.Rs.2000/- on Western Railway against Scouts & Guides Quota for the year 2009-2010.
(1) WR Railway Recruitment 2009 Minimum Educational Qualification:
For Group 'C' - Matriculation and its equivalent.
A President's Scouts / Guides / Ranger / Rover or Himalayan Wood Badge Holder or a Pre HWB Trained Scouts Leader / Advanced Trained Guide / Leader / Captain.
Should have been an active member of the Scouts Organization for at least three years in the recent past and should continue to be active member.
Should have attended at least one event at National level and one or two events at State level or
Should have good record of participation in Scouts / Guides activities at Unit / District level.
(2) WR Recruitment 2009 Age limit, including relaxation provision:
Candidates born between the dates indicated as under shall apply.
Category: General candidates, OBC candidates, SC / ST Candidates.
For Group 'C' post: 02.01.1980 & 01.01.1992 02.01.1977 & 01.01.1992 02.01.1975 & 01.01.1992.
(3) WR Recruitment 2009 Processing Fee:
The processing fee for recruitment against Scouts & Guides Quota will be Rs. 40/- Date of Issuing of IPO / Bank Draft should not be before the date of issue of this Employment Notice (SC / ST and Ex. Servicemen are exempted from examination fee).
Postal Order / Bank Draft should be in the name of Chief Cashier. Western Railway, Churchgate payable at Mumbai.
(4) WR Railway Recruitment 2009 Application Form:
The given format should be neatly typed or handwritten either in Hindi or English.
One Passport size photograph duly signed should be pasted on the application in the space provided and similar two passport size photographs duly signed at backside should be clipped along with the application form.
Applications should be sent by ordinary post in a closed envelope to the following address:

Or to be dropped in the application box provided for the purpose in the Headquarter office up to 17.00 hours. No receipt at the counter will be given.
Applications sent by courier/By Registered A/D or Registered Post will not be accepted and same will be treated as invalid. The last date for receipt of application is 07/12/2009.
On the top of the envelope "Application for Recruitment Against Scouts and Guides Quota & Employment Notice No. WR/HO/R&T/S&G/l/ 2009-10" should be superscribed.
No application will be accepted after the closing date for whatever reason and any enclosure received separately after the receipt of application will not be entertained.
(5) Enclosures as under should be attached with the application.
Postal order/Bank Draft of Rs.40/- in favour of Chief Cashier, Western Railway, Churchgate, Mumbai.
Copy of certificates attested by Gazetted Officer in support of age, educational qualification and participation certificate in Scouts & Guides for their eligibility as mentioned above.
Copy of Caste certificate' attested by Gazetted Officer in the case of SC/ST, current creamy layer certificate in case of OBC candidate issued by competent authority.
Three recent passport size photographs duly signed. One photograph is to be pasted on the application and two photographs are to be attached with the application as per (4) above.
It may be noted that application without the attested copies of the above mentioned documents will be summarily rejected.
(6) Selection Procedure for WR Railway Recruitment
The candidates, who apply in response to this notification and are found eligible for consideration, will be subjected to written test followed by evaluation of their activities / certificates / credentials in Scouting & Guiding and Interview / personality tests for those who qualified for viva-voce, over and above the minimum prescribed eligibility condition.
The mode of selection, date, venue and time will be intimated to the eligible candidate through post [under certificate of posting]. The decision of Western Railway in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of application and allotment of venues will be final and binding on the candidates.
The decision of the Selection Committee in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of application etc. will be final and binding on the candidates and no Inquiry or correspondence will be entertained in this connection.
Incomplete applications will be rejected and no further correspondence in this regard will be entertained. No separate communication will be sent to the candidate in this regard.
In case selected candidates for Group 'C' post are appointed in Clerical category, they shall have to possess the proficiency in-typing with minimum speed of 30 w.p.m. in English or 25 w.p.m. in Hindi, within a period of 02 years from the date of appointment, for which they may get maximum 3 chances only.
Employees already working in Group 'D' post on Indian Railways desiring to apply for Group 'C' post against Scouts & Guides quota and fulfilling above eligibility condition should forward their application through proper channel.
