Recruitment for the Post of Constables (Male & Female) in RPF / RPSF
Applications were invited from eligible mate / female candidates for filling up the Posts of Constables in Scale Rs.3050-75-4590 (RSRP) in the Railway Protection Force / Railway Protection Special Force as per details contained in the employment notification no. 01 / 2008 dated 14.08.2008. Call letters to eligible candidates for appearing in Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Measurement are yet to be issued.
In the meantime and in order to ensure fair, transparent and speedy conduct of recruitment to fill up the vacancies, the Standing Order issued by DG / RPF dealing with the procedure regarding recruitment of constables in RPF / RPSF has been modified by the Railway Board's letter no. 2009-SEC(E) / RC-3 / 1 dated 05.03.2009. Accordingly, the following modifications in the Employment Notification no. 01 / 2008 may be noted by the all concerned.

Nature of Test: The modified procedure is as under
Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Measurement
PET will precede the measurement Those found conforming to the eligibility criteria will be put through the 1600 mts race (for male candidates) / 800 mts. (for female candidates) race first,
- No PET shall be required for Ex servicement
- The PET will onsist of the following three events. No marks shall be awarded. It will qualifying in nature.
The minimum qualifying standard for each event is specified as under:

Candidates qualifying in the PET wilI be measured for their eligibility with respect to height and male candidates will also be subjected to measurement of chest (unexpanded) and chest (expanded) as specified above.
Candidates who fail in any of the events of the PET or in Physical Measurement. either of height or chest, shall be escorted out of the venue after putting an indelible ink make on the index finger of the left hand. Their call letters shall be collected.
Written Test:
Only those candidates who qualify in the PET and physical measurement shall be called for written examination on specified venue and date. The written examination will be conducted on a single date at a fixed time.
Written test will consist of 100 multiple choice objective type questions and shall be of 60 minutes duration. The question paper shall be of matriculation standard with maximum marks as 100. 20 questions each on general intelligence, arithmetic, language and 40 on general awareness may be given.Candidates will be required to answer all the questions. The test may be conducted using Optical Magnetic Reader (OMR) sheets and evaluation wit! be done electronically.
Candidates shall be awarded 01 (one) mark for each correct answer and one fourth mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer i.e. 01 (one) mark will be deducted for 04 incorrect answers. No mark shall be awarded or deducted for questions not attempted. The marks secured in this test will be counted for preparation of the final select list.
Question paper will be bilingual (English and Hindi).
Viva Voce A Document Verification:
Merit lists of candidates shall be prepared for each category on the basis of marks obtained in written test and candidates to the extent of a maximum of three times the number of vacancies in each category shall be called for the viva-voce. Call letters shall be issued to the candidates to appear for viva voce and verification of their original documents. The Roll Nos. of candidates who have been called for Viva Voce will be notified-in the newspapers / Employment News in the ascending order of Roll Number,
Viva-voce for all categories of candidates will carry 05 marks. The purpose of the viva-voce will be to determine the general intelligence, awareness, alterness and soldierly traits and to assess their overall suitability for the RPF. The appearance of the candidate for interview will be compulsory. Those who do not appear a! the interview will not be considered in the final selection irrespective of their performance in the physical and written test.
Bonus marks (Document Verification):
NCC:
- Candidate with Certificate (B) - 01 marks
- Candidate with Certificate (C) - 02 marks
- Maximum bonus marks for NCC certificate shall not exceed 02 marks.
- Benefit will be given only on production of the original certificate supporting their claim.
- Benefit is not available to ex servicemen.
Games and sports
- Represented university at inter-university sports - 01 mark.
- Represented state in inter-state sports - 02 mark.
- Represented India at international sports meet - 03 mark.
- Medal winner at national level sports meet - 03 mark.
Height:
A male candidate whose height is 178 cms or female candidates whose height is more 165 cms shall be given 03 bonus marks. The bonus marks snail be added to the marks obtained in the written test and interview for preparing the final merit list of selected candidates. Maximum marks awarded as bonous marks shall not be more than 05.
The candidates called for viva voce must produce all original documents in support of their education, age, SC / ST / OBC status where applicable (on the format prescribed in advertisement) domicile and any other extra curricular activity (including NCC).
Candidates serving under any Government or Public Sector Enterprise / Undertaking, including Railways shall also bring "No Objection Certificate". No further extension for production of the original certificate shall be given. Failure to produce the documents will lead to the disqualification of the candidate.
Training: No Change.

Applications have already been received in response to Employment Notification no. 01/2008 dated 14.08.2008. No fresh applications are being invited.
Various information, data, terms & conditions mentioned in the Employment Notice are liable to change due to Government or Judicial order made subsequently. Any subsequent changes in terms & conditions of this Employment Notice as per extant rules will stand good.
A Grievance Redressal Cell headed by the CSC / West Central Railway will be set up of Office of CSC / RPF, West Central Railway, Jabalpur which will listen to the grievances of the candidates regarding physical measurement only and redress them. The complaints / representations which are received within three days of the physical measurement shall be promptly acknowledge and disposed of. The decision of the CSC / WCR will be final.
