Southern Railway Application Forms are invited on plain A4 size paper (in the prescribed format) from Indian Citizens, for recruitment in Group 'C' posts in Pay Band of Rs.5200-20200 + Grade Pay of Rs.1900 / Rs.5200-20200 + Grade Pay of Rs.2000 in Southern Railway, against Cultural and Scouts & Guides quota for the year 2009 - 2010.

1.0 Quota: Number of Posts & Details

1.1 Cultural: Two Posts (Dance - 1 post & Music - 1 post).

Dance for Female only Classical dances of India such as Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Odissi, Mohiniyattam, Kathak, Manipuri and Kathakali.

Music: Light Music for Male only. (or)

Instrumental (Flute / Keyboard) - Male or Female.

1.2 Scouts & Guides two Posts:

2.0 Posts and Educational Qualification:

2.1 For Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC):

• Passed Matriculation or its equivalent with not less than 50% marks in aggregate.
• Minimum percentage of 50% marks in aggregate is not applicable to SC / ST candidates and to those candidates (irrespective of community), who possess qualifications higher than matriculation such as HSC / Intermediate / Graduation / Post Graduation. (or)

2.2 For Technical Categories:

• Act Apprenticeship / ITI. No other qualification including Diploma in Engineering will be accepted as an alternative qualification.
• Act Apprenticeship / ITI Certificate must be approved by SCVT / NCVT.

Note: Specific category in Group 'C' post and place of posting will be decided by the Southern Railway administration at the time of offering appointment to the selected candidates.
