Recruitment Against Cultural Quota

South Western Railway Head Quarters invites applications in the prescribed format from eligible candidates for 02 (UR) posts in Group "C" categories to be recruited in Pay Band -1 Rs.5200-20200/- on Grade pay Rs.1900/- against Cultural Quota in the following disciplines for the year 2009-10.

The applicant has to fulfill the following conditions:

Age:

18-30 Years (As on 01-01-2010), Extent of Age Relaxation : Serving Railway employees who have put in a minimum of 03 years of service will be given relaxation of age to the extent of service rendered, subject to the age limit not exceeding 40 years.

Desirable:

1. Experience in the field and performance given in AIR / Doordarshan etc.
2. Prizes won at National level.

How to Apply:

Application as per the format given below shall be submitted on A-4 size good quality paper. The application format should be in English / Hindi language only and the application should be filled in English / Hindi language only.

The applications submitted in other than English/Hindi languages will be rejected summarily. The application should be filled in by the candidate in his / her own handwriting and signed.

The candidate has to affix one recent passport size photograph (recently taken) duly attested by a Gazette Officer on the application in the space provided for the purpose.

Candidate is also required to attach one extra passport size photograph along with the application.

Examination fee:

The candidates have to send a crossed Indian Postal Order/Demand Draft for Rs.40/- drawn in favour of FA & CAO, Southwestern Railway, Hubli and payable at Hubli.

The candidates belonging to SC/ST community are exempted from payment of examination fees.

Recruitment Process:

The recruitment process will be on the basis of written test followed by assessment of talent in the relevant field.

The candidates whose applications are found eligible in all respects will be called for written test and the candidates who qualify in the written test will be allowed for practical demonstration.

Written Test 50 marks (The written test will consist of objective type of questions)

Assessment of talent in the relevant field on

1. The basis of practical demonstration : 35 marks
2. Testimonials / Prizes etc: 15 Marks

General Conditions

Before applying to the post, the candidates should ensure that he / she fulfills the eligibility norms.

1. The candidates already employed in Central / State / PSUs including Railways should submit their applications through proper channel duly submitting service certificate and no objection certificate from the employer.
2. The decision of the Railway Administration in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of the application, penalty for false information, and mode of selection shall be final and binding on the candidates.
3. Candidates recommended for appointment will have to pass the requisite medical fitness standards prescribed for the selected post.
4. Canvassing in any form shall disqualify the candidate.
5. The candidates should be in readiness to appear for the written test at short notice after the last date is over.

Enclosures:

The following enclosures should be firmly attached along with the application form. (If the certificates are in a language other than English/Hindi, attested translation in English/ Hindi should also be enclosed)

1. Attested copy of Certificate in proof on academic qualification and experience.
2. Attested copy of certificate in proof of age.
3. Attested copy of certificate in proof of Cultural qualification and cultural Activities.
4. Attested copy of Latest community certificate issued by competent authority if he/she belongs to SC/ST/OBC.
5. Crossed Indian Postal Order(s) / Demand Draft as indicated at item No.4.
6. Extra passport size photograph.
