South Eastern Railway Recruitment of Sports Persons Quota in Group 'C' Category.

Closing Date of South Eastern Railway Application: 12.01.2010.

South Eastern Railway invites applications from talented and accomplished sportspersons to join South Eastern Railway family. If you fulfill the criteria for following games, please apply within the period specified hereunder with all relevant documents.

2. Scale of pay for Group 'C' Post: PB-1 Rs.5200-20200/- + 1900/- (or) 2000/- (GP). (as per 6th GPC Scale).

3. Minimum norms for recruitment of Group 'C' post:

Sportspersons should have any of the following sports achievement:

Represented the country in the international championships in Olympic Games, World Cup, World Championships, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games. (or)
Represented the State (or) equivalent unit in Junior/Senior National Championship and obtained at least 3rd position. (or)
Represented a university in All India Inter-University Championship organized under the aegis of Association of Indian Universities and obtained at least 3rd position in individual event (or) 2nd position in team event. (or)
Represented the State or equivalent unit in Federation Cup Championship (senior category) and obtained 1st position. (or)
Represented the country in the International Championships in Commonwealth Championship and Asian Championship and obtained at least 3rd position.

NB: Only the Junior National Championships of age groups as specified under the above Discipline/Category shall be considered for recruitment against Sports Quota as per Railway Board's extant order.

4. SER Recruitment 2010 Educational qualification: Matriculation (or) its equivalent.

5. Age Limits for SER Vacancies: Minimum 18 years-maximum 25 years as on 01.012010.

6. Important Note on sports performance criteria:

All the championship mentioned above shall be conducted under the aegis of recognized international/national/state sports federation and also recognized by the RSPB.
For norms as detailed above, only Senior National and Junior National Championship shall be taken into consideration. National meets, Rural meets, Festival meets, National School Games and other similar tournaments shall not be considered.
Sports achievements within the immediate previous two financial years (i.e. on or after 01.04.2007) and current financial year (i.e. 2009-10) shall only be considered for appointment Activeness in sports will be adjudged as per the performance during the field trial. For this purpose concluding day of the championship shall be taken into consideration, failing which the application will be rejected.

7. Other important notes for SER Recruitment:

The selection will be conducted through field trial and interview.
No correspondence shall be entertained in respect of any application, which has been rejected. Similarly, no intimation shall be sent to any applicant who is not called for trial/interview as well as found, not suitable after the trial/interview.
A non-refundable Bank Draft of Rs.40/- issued in favour. Should be enclosed along with the application form. SC/ST candidates are exempted from payment of application fees.

The exact date and venue of the trial and interview of the concerned discipline will be intimated to the eligible candidate through call letter.

Any discrepancy found in the application and papers submitted by the applicant will render the application invalid. Candidates should write the "name of the event and category applied for" in block letters at the top of envelope which should be super-scribed: "SER Application for recruitment on sports quota-2009-10".

Last date for receipt of South Eastern Railway Recruitment application is 12.01.2010.

8. Instructions for SER Railway: Kindly bring original documents in regard to the date of birth, educational qualifications, sports achievements on the date of trial and interview without which, you will not be allowed to appear in the selection trial. No TA/DA/Accommodation will be given for appearing in the selection trial/interview.

You will have to bring your own kits and also two-passport size attested photographs. You may be required to stay during the selection for 2/3 days, for which you have to make your own arrangements.

The SER Railway Administration have all rights reserved to fix any day as deemed suitable, change of place (or) postpone trial/interview at its own convenient which can also be cancelled due to unforeseen causes against which no claim will be accepted. All documents have to be attested.

The candidates would be finally selected for employment only if they pass the medical examination prescribed for the post to which he will be appointed and ready to be posted anywhere over South Eastern Railway where vacancies are available.
