South Eastern Railway Recruitment against Scouts & Guides Quota - 2009 - 10 in Group 'C' Category.

South Eastern Railway Applications on plain paper, are invited from the citizens of India for filling up 2 (two) posts in Group 'C' categories in scale: Rs.5,200 - 20,200/- with corresponding Grade Pay: Rs.1,900 - 2,000/- from the eligible and meritorious Scouts & Guides candidates.

Note: Selected candidates will be posted any where over S.E. Railways where vacancies in South Eastern Railway are available.
South Eastern Railway administration reserves the right to modify the number of vacancies.
Candidates having no Scouts & Guides qualifications, as prescribed below need not apply.
2. Minimum Educational Qualification and Age for South Eastern Railway Recruitment:

3. SER Scouting / Guiding qualifications: (Besides The educational qualification and age limit, the following Scouting & Guiding qualifications are essential for South Eastern Railway Recruitment against Scouts & Guides Quota).
Candidate should be a President's Scouts / Guides / Ranger / Rover, (or) Himalayan Wood badge holder (or) A Pre - HWB trained Scout Leader / Advanced trained Guide / Leader / Captain.
Should have been an active member of a Scout Organization for at least 3 (Three) years in the recent past and should continue to be active.
Should have attended at least one event at National level and one (or) two events at State level. (or) Should have a good record of participation in Scouts / Guides activities at Unit / District level.
4. Condition for SER Recruitment: Candidates will be subjected to medical examination by Railway medical authority prior to their appointment after due selection.
5. South Eastern Railway Applications should be addressed to the following address to be dropped in the box provided in the SE Railway Recruitment Section of CPO's Office / S.E. Railway Head Quarters, Garden Reach (1st floor of GM Building).

6. Last date for receipt of SE Railway applications: 04.01.2010 (18.00 hrs.).
7. South Eastern Railway Application Form:
The SER Application format should be neatly typed or handwritten either in English (or) Hindi on A-4 size paper with one passport size photograph (without coloured glass / sunglass), duly signed on the top by the candidate and attested by the Gazetted Officer should be pasted at the specified space on the SER application form.
Two passport size photographs (same as affixed in the SE Railway application form) duly signed on the top should be clipped along with the South Eastern Railway application form.
All the photocopies of certificates in support of age, caste, educational qualification, Scouting Qualification, other qualification etc. should be attested by a gazetted officer and should be enclosed along with the SER application form.
Copies of participation certificates and membership certificates for the last three years in the recent past and continuation certificate as active member should be countersigned by State / District Commissioner (Scouts) for Scout wing and State / District Commissioner (Guides) for Guides wing and should be enclosed along with the SER application form.
For UR & OBC candidates, applications should be accompanied with bank draft amounting to Rs.40/- (Rupees Forty only) as examination fees, to be drawn in favour of FA&CAO / S.E.Rly, Garden Reach. SC / ST candidates are exempted from paying examination fee. Bank Draft purchased before date of issue of South Eastern Railway notification will not be entertained.
Two self - addressed envelopes (Size 23cms x 10 cms) duly affixed with Rs.5/- postage stamp on each envelope should be accompanied with the SE Railway application irrespective of UR / OBC / SC / ST candidate.
All the SER applications should be in closed - envelope super scribing on the top "South Eastern Railway Recruitment against Scouts & Guides Quota 2009 - 10 in Group "C" Category against Dated 05.12.2009".
In case of serving employee "No objection certificate" from the employer should be attached.
8. Written Examination for SE Railway Recruitment: Candidates will have to appear for a SER written test on a particular date followed by viva-voce. Written Test will be conducted at S. E. Railway Head Quarter.
South Eastern Railway written test will be for a total 50 marks consisting of 50 objective type questions relating to Scouts & Guides organization and its activities as per specified syllabus, 35 marks for Scouts / Guides qualification and 15 marks for personality test / interview i.e, total 100 marks.
The candidate may be in readiness to appear for the Written Test at Short Notice after the last date is over. South Eastern Railway Question paper will be in bilingual in English and Hindi. Candidates may answer either in English (or) in Hindi.
9. SER Recruitment 2010 Important Instructions:
The decision of the South Eastern Railway administration in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of the applications and mode of selection shall be final and binding on the candidate and the decision of the South Eastern Railway recruitment board in connection with panel will be final.
There is no community reservation against Scouts & Guides quota recruitment in SER. The candidate belonging to SC / ST / OBC community should enclosed necessary certificate for upper age relaxation and also farther reservation benefit subject to their appointment on Railway.
For non - empanelment of the candidates no correspondences will be entertained.
The South Eastern Railway administration will not be responsible for any postal delay (or) wrong delivery.
Canvassing in any form will Disqualify the Candidature and no Correspondence will be Entertained in the Matter.
Any application containing material irregularities such as unsigned, incomplete, illegible, without all enclosures, not on prescribed format, (or) without attested copies of certificate / testimonials and the application which in the opinion of Railway administration are otherwise invalid, will be rejected at any stage.
