Norms for SCR Railway Recruitment in Group 'C' Posts:

Represented the country in the International Championships in the following events:

Olympic Games
World Cup
World Championships
Asian Games
Common Wealth Games

Represented State or equivalent Unit, in Junior/Senior National Championship and obtained at least 3rd position. (or)
Represented a University in All India Inter University Championship, organized under the aegis of Association of Indian Universities and obtained at least 3rd position in individual event or 2nd position in the team event. (or)
Represented a State or equivalent Unit in the Federation Cup Championship (Senior Category) and obtained Imposition. (or)
Represented the country in Commonwealth Championships or Asian Championships and obtained at least 3rd position.

Educational Qualifications for Sports Quota Recruitment 2010: Minimum SSC/Matriculation. Persons appointed to the category of Clerk-Cum-Typist should acquire Typing Proficiency of 30 WPM in English or 25 WPM in Hindi, within a period of two years from the date of appointment, and till such time their appointments to this category will be provisional.

Age Limit for SCR Railway Jobs: Between 18 and 25 years as on 01-01-2010.

For norms above, only Senior National and Junior National championships shall be taken into account. National Games, Rural Meets, Fesival Meets and other similar tournaments shall not be considered.

For SCR recruitment against sports quota, the sports achievements shall be in the immediate previous 2 years and sports persons shall be an active player. For this purpose previous two financial years from the date of SCR notification, shall be taken into account.

For example for SCR applications received in 2009-2010 (i.e., From 01-04-2009 to 31-03-2010) for South Central Railway recruitment through advertisements issued during this period, the sports achievements of current and previous two financial years, i.e., 2008-09, and 2007-08 shall be taken into account and therefore sports achievements on or after 01-04-2007 shall only be considered for appointment, in the extant case.

For this purpose, concluding day of the Championship shall be taken into account.

Fee for Sports Quota Recruitment in Group 'C': Rs.40/- by way of Crossed Indian Postal Orders drawn in favour of the Financial Advisor & Chief Accounts Officer, South Central Railway, Secunderabad. The Candidates belonging to SC/ST communities are fully exempted from payment of fees.
