Railway Claims Tribunal-Requirement of Judicial Member.
1. Indian Railway Applications are invited for filling up the post of Member (Judicial) in Railway Claims Tribunal against the existing and prospective Indian Railway vacancies.
2. The existing and likely Indian Railway vacancies of Member (Judicial) are at Ghaziabad, Bhubneswar, Guwahati and Ahemedabad. The above Indian Railway vacancies are tentative and likely to change both in number and location depending upon the administrative requirement. Selected candidates are liable to be posted anywhere in India.
3. Jurisdiction: The Tribunal discharges in respect of settlement of disputes relating to claims for loss and damage and those relating to accident compensation against a railway administration under the Railway, Act, 1989 read with Railway Claims Tribunal Act, 1987.

Judicial Member Pay Scale: The post of Member (Judicial) in Railway Claims Tribunal carries the pay scale of Rs. 75,500-80,000/- per mensem plus allowances, admissible under the rules.
Other terms: As contained in Railway Claims Tribunal (Salaries and Allowances and Conditions of Services of Chairman, Vice Chairman and Members) Rules, 1989, as amended from time to time.
5. Qualifications for Indian Railway Recruitment 2010 Appointment as Judicial Member / RCT:
A person shall not be qualified for appointment as Judicial Member unless he:
Is, (or) has been, (or) is qualified to be a Judge of a High Court; (or)
Has been a Member of the Indian Legal Services and has held a post in Grade I of that service for atleast three years; (or)
Has, for at least three years, held a civil judicial post carrying a scale of pay which is not less than that of a Joint Secretary to the Government of India.
Serving officer except High Court Judges will have to take voluntary retirement from service to take up the assignment in the Tribunal.
6. Term of Office:
Member (Judicial) shall hold office as such for a term of five years from date on which he enters upon his office or until he attains the age of 62 years, whichever is earlier.
7. Indian Railway Application form duly signed and completed by the candidate in the following proforma, should reach (in case of Government Servant through proper channel) to under the following Indian Railways address by 15.02.2010.

While forwarding the Indian Railway application form through proper channel, ACR's, vigilance clearance and details of disciplinary cases, etc., pending (or) completed, if any, may be forwarded.
Note:
Candidates in service are required to send their Indian Railway applications through proper channel.
Candidates from profession should attach documents in support of educational qualifications, professional qualifications, date of birth, income from profession, copy of Bar Registration Certificate.
Indian Railway Applications which are not accompained by any of the requisite documents will be rejected.
Incomplete Indian Railway applications will be summarily rejected.
