East Coast Railway Recruitment against Sports Quota (Open Market) for the Year 2009 - 10.
1. ECoR Applications are invited from eligible Sportspersons who are Indian nationals in the prescribed format for recruitment to vacancies in ECoR under Sports Quota (Open Market) in East Coast Railway for the following sports disciplines:

Note:
Shortfall vacancies against any of the above Disciplines, due to lack of suitable candidates, may be shifted to other Disciplines where suitable candidates may be available, without - changing the total vacancies in ECoR.
ECoR Pay Scale for Group - 'C' categories would be in Band Pay of Rs.5200 - 20200 (Grade pay Rs.1900/-) (RSRP - 2008).
2. East Coast Railway Eligibility Norms for Group C posts.
2.1. Sports Achievement:
Applicant should be currently an active, player and should have fulfilled the sports achievements on or after 01.04.2007 in the given discipline and:
Represented the country in International Championship like Olympic Games, World Cup, World Championships. Asian games, Commonwealth Games. or
Represented a State or equivalent Unit, in Junior / Senior National Championship and obtained at least 3rd position. or
Represented a University in All India inter - University Championship organized under the aegis of Association of Indian Universities and obtained at least 3rd position in individual event or 2nd position in team event. or
Represented a State or equivalent unit in Federation Cup Championship (Senior category) and obtained 1st position. or
Represented the Country in International championships like Commonwealth Championships and Asian Championships and obtained at least 3rd position. or
In Cricket: Represented International level in senior category main Indian Team in a Test Match or in Limited Overs One Day International match or at National level, applicant should have represented a State or equivalent Unit or a Zone of India, with the following minimum sports achievements as mentioned against each Tournament conducted by BCCI:

2.2.
All championships mentioned in para 2.1 above shall be those conducted under the aegis of recognised / International / National / State Sports Federation and also recognised by Railway Sports Promotion Board.
The 'Junior' National Championship recognized by RSPB for the purpose of para 2.1 (ii) above are: for Hockey - 'Junior (Under - 21) National Hockey Championship'; for Volleyball - 'Junior National Volleyball Championship' in Under - 19 group.
For norms under para 2.1 (ii) National Games, Rural Meets, Festival Meets and other similar Tournaments shall not be considered.
2.3. ECoR Recruitment 2010 Education Qualification:
Matriculation or its equivalent from a recognised board. (50% marks in the aggregate will be required for NTPC categories in Group C. 50% marks are not required for SC / ST candidates, and for candidates having higher qualification,).
3. Age Limits for ECoR Vacancies:
Minimum 18 years and Maximum 25 years of age as on 1.1.2010. (Note: Matriculation or its equivalent certificate from recognised board should be submitted for date of birth proof). No age relaxation is allowed even for SC / ST / OBC candidates.
4. ECoR Application Fee:
UR and OBC candidates should submit with the application an Indian Postal Order (issued after the date of this notification) for an amount of Rs.40/- drawn in favour of FA & CAO, East Coast Railway, payable at Bhubaneswar. SC / ST candidates, ex-servicemen and physically challenged candidates need not submit this fee.
5. Selection Procedure for East Coast Railway Recruitment:
ECoR Selection will be based upon performance in sports Trial's and Interview / Certificate Verification conducted and finalized by nominated selection committee at Zonal Headquarters.
