Technician Categories (ITI/ACT Apprentices) (Diploma /Degree will not be accepted)

Candidates are advised to be careful while exercising option for the Following Categories

Technician Categories Age Limits - UR - 02.01.1979 TO 01.01.1991 SC/ST - 02.01.1974 TO 01.01.1991 OBC - 02.01.1976 TO 01.01.1991

For Cat.Nos. 71 to 89 fees of Rs.40 to be paid by crossed Demand Draft/Indian Postal Order(non refundable and dated not before 12.07.2008) addressed to Assistant Secretary, Railway Recruitment Board, Chennai. Further details refer para 10

Course Completed Act Apprentices trained in the Railway Establishment shall be given preference over a candidate who is not such an apprentice provided other things being equal.

Upper age limit for the Course Completed Act Apprentice will be 35 years if he/she had commenced Act Apprenticeship under the Apprenticeship Act before attaining the age of 25 years.

In addition the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC are eligible for normal relaxation of 5 years and 3 years respectively.

Candidates applying for Cat Nos.71 to 89 need fill in only one application for each group clearly indicating their order of preference of categories and posts applied for.

Final allotment to posts will be made depending on merit, vacancies available and preference of the candidate.

If no preference is indicated by the candidate, RRB’s decision regarding preference for Category will be final.

Stipend will be admissible to these categories during the period of training.

They will be absorbed and given regular scale after successful completion of training.

1. Downloaded and filled in application duly signed/LTI and Photo affixed along with anexures & fees (if applicable) should be sent to RRB/Chennai immediately duly superscribing “online” on then velope.

The Application will be rejected if not in proper format and not accompanied by the requisite examination fees.
