Subject: Recruitment against Scout / Guide quota for the year 2009-10 in Group D Category.
Last date of receipt of Application: 31.07.2009 upto 18.00 hrs.
Applications are invited from the eligible candidates in the prescribed proforma (attached herewith) for filling up of 2 (two) vacancies against Scout Guide quota in Group 'D' category in scale Rs.5200-20200 + GP Rs.1800/- on Central Railway, Nagpur Division.

Details of the posts to be filled in: Group 'D' in scale Rs.5200- 20200 + GP Rs.1800/- Two (2) Posts (1 Scout & 1 Guide)
Educational Qualification: Minimum VIIIth Class passed from recognized institution.
Age Limit: 18 to 33 years as on date of issue of notificate. 5 years age relaxation to SC/ST candidate and 3 years age relaxation to OBC candidate.
Examination Fee: Applications should accompany with IPO amounting to Rs.40/- (Rs.Forth only) drawn in favour of Sr.DFM, Central Railway, Nagpur. For SC/ST candidates, no examination fee is payable.
Scouting / Guiding qualification:
President / Rashtrapati's Scouts / Guides / Rovers Rangers or Himalayas wood Badge holders or a Pre-HWB trained Scout Leader / advanced trained Guide leader / Captain.
Should have been active member of Scout / Guides organization at least three years in the recent past and should continue to be active.
Should have attend atleast one event at National level & one or two events at State level or should have good records of participation in Scout / Guides activities at unit / District level.
Written Examination: Candidates will have to appear in written test. Those who qualify in written test will be called for viva - voce.
The written test will be for total 50 marks consisting of 50 objective type questions relating to Scouts & Guides, 35 marks allotted for Scouts & Guides eligibility and 15 marks for Personality test / interview i.e. total 100 marks.
Candidates should secure minimum 40% marks in written test for GL & 30% marks for SC/ST candidates to qualify for interview. The period of written test will be of 1 hour.
Syllabus: History of Scouting / Guiding, Law & Promises Organisation District / State Level Training Centre, District / State Level Knowledge of Books Scouting for boys / Guiding for girls in India, Motto left hand shake, salute, prayer, flag song, National Anthem know the National & Scouting Flags Social Services at various occasions, Hiking, Proficiency Badges, how these are earned, stages in scouting / guiding, thinking day, progressive training of Scout / Guide / Rovers / Rangers, Pioneering, Handicrafts, Indian Railway Jamborette, National Jamboree, Jamboree on the Air.
How to apply:
The given format should be neatly typed or hand written either in English or Hindi on a A-4 size paper should be filled in own hand writing and one pass port size photograph should be pasted at the specific space on the application form duly signed on the top by the candidate and attested by the gazetted officer.
Two passport size photographs (same as fixed in the application form duly signed on the top) should be clipped along with the application form.
All the copies of certificates in support of age, caste, educational qualification, scouting qualification, other qualification should be attested by a Gazetted Officer and should be enclosed alongwith the application form.
Copies of participation certificates should be countersigned by DC/S&G and membership certificate for last 3 years in the recent past and continuation certificate as active member should be signed by the state / District Commissioner (Scouts) for scouts wing and State / District Commissioner (Guides) for guides wing and should be enclosed alongwith the application form.
Two self-addressed envelopes should be accompanied with the application of all the candidates in which the envelopes should be postage stamp valued Rs.5/- to be affixed in case of serving employee "No objection Certificate" from the employer should be attached.
More than one application in one envelope will be summarily rejected. Application should be made in prescribed Proforma only.
Important Instruction:
The decision of Recruitment Cell in connection with panel will be final. For non-empanelment of the candidates no correspondence will be entertained.
The Railway Administration will not be responsible for any postal delay or wrong delivery. Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidate.
The application which suffer from material irregularities such as unsigned, incomplete, illegible, without all enclosures, without IPO, not on prescribed format, without attested copies of certificate / testimonials and the application which in the opinion of Railway administration are otherwise invalid, will be rejected at any stage.
Application received after 18.00 hrs of 26.08.2009 will not be entertained.
