Recruitment under sports Quota

ECR Patna Application are invited from the eligible and outstanding sportspersons in the prescribed format (giving here under) for filling up of 12 vacancies in Group 'C' category in Scale Rs.3050-4590 (as per 5th CPC) corresponding grade in 6th CPC is Rs.5200-20200 with Grade Pay Rs.1900/- against Sports Quota (Open advertisement) for Headquarter, East Central Railway, Hajipur. However the Railway administration reserves the right to modify the number of vacancies.

Details of Sports discipline required for filling up of the 12 group 'C' posts are as under:-

Period of Reckoning Sports Achievements:

For recruitment against sports quota, the sports achievements shall be in the immediate previous 02 (two) years and sportsperson shall be an active player.

For this purpose previous two financial years from the date of receipt of application or date of notification, as the case may be, shall be taken into account.

For example, for applications received in 2009-10 (i.e. from 01.04.2009 to 31.03.2010) for recruitment against Sports Quota, the sports achievements of current (2009-10) and previous two financial years, i.e. 2007-08 and 2008-09 shall be taken into account and therefore, sports achievements on or after 01.04.2007 shall only be considered for appointment, in the extant case. For this purpose concluding day of the Championship shall be taken into account.

ECR Recruitment 2009 Age limit

The age limit will be 18-25 years. (The age of Sports person will be reckoned as on 01.01.2010) No relaxation in upper or lower age limit will be given Minimum Educational Qualification. Matriculation or its equivalent.

ECR 2009 Examination fees:

The examination fees for recruitment against Sports Quota will be Rs.40/- Date of issue of IPO/Bank Draft should not be before the date of issue of this Employment Notice (SC/ ST and ex. Serviceman are exempted from examination fee).

Postal order / Bank Draft should be in favour of "FA & CAO, East Central Railway, Hajipur' payable at Hajipur. Examination fee will not be refundable in any case.

Medical Examination: The sportsperson Male / Female to be appointed shall fulfill the minimum medical norms alter examination by Railway Medical authority for the post for which he / she has to be appointed.

Selection will be conducted through trial and interview by recruitment committee.

East Central Railway Application Form

The given format should be neatly typed or hand Written either in English or Hindi on a A-4 size paper should be filled in own hand writing and one passport size photograph should be pasted at the specific space on the application form duly signed on the top by the candidate.

Two passport size photographs (same as affixed in the application form duly signed on the top) should be clipped along with the application, form.

All the copies of certificates in support of age, caste, educational qualification, sports achievements & other qualifications should be attested either by a Gazetted officer or self attested and should be enclosed along with the application form.

All applications should be accompanied with Bank Draft or IPO amounting to Rs.40/ (SC/ST and Ex. Service man are exempted from this payment) which will not be refundable in any case.

In case of serving employee "No objection certificate" from the employer should be attached. More than one application in one envelope will be summarily rejected.

(vii) Only those candidates who fulfill the prescribed norms should apply.

No application will be accepted after the closing date lor whatever reason, neither any enclosure received separately after the receipt of application will be connected there with.

Minimum Norms for recruitment of sports persons in group 'C category Sportsperson who has any of the following sports achievement in term of individual / team event in the games mentioned above.

1. Represented the country in the International Championship like
1. Olympic Games
2. World Cup, World Championship, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games OR
2. Represented a state or equivalent unit, in Junior/Senior National Championship and obtained at least 3rd position. OR
3. Represented a University in All India Inter University Championship organized under the aegis of Association of Indian Universities and obtained at least 3rd position in individual event or 2nd position in team event. OR
4. Represented a state or equivalent unit in Federation Cup championship (Senior Category) and obtained 1st position. OR
5. Represented the country in Commonwealth / Asian Championship and obtained atleast 3rd position.

Note:

1. All the championships mentioned above shall be conducted under the aegis of recognized Intemational / National / State Sports Federation and also recognized by the Railway Sports Promotion Board.
2. For norms - Represented a state or equivalent unit in Junior/Senior National Championship and obtained at least 3rd position and Represented a state or equivalent unit, except in Marathon and corss country in junior/Senior National Championship, only Senior National and Junior National Championships shall be taken into consideration, National Games, Rural Meets, Festival Meets and other similar tournaments shall not be considered.
3. In Cricket (Men) at International level in senior category representation of Main Indian Team in a Test Match or in Limited Overs Day International Match shall also be considered.
4. In Cricket (Men) at National level, representation of a stale or equivalent Unit or a Zone of India, with the following sports achievements as mentioned against each tournament, conducted by BCCI are also eligible:-

Conduct of trial

1. Trial of candidates shall be conducted to assess their sports performance/suitability for the team of E.C. Railway. Candidates found FIT in the Trial will be considered lor next stage selection.

The following is the format of marks for the trial:-

• Maximum Marks for Trial - 35 Marks
• FIT candidates - 20 Marks or more
• UNFIT candidates - Below 20 Marks
2. After Trial only the fit candidates shall be considered for the next stage i.e. interview / document verification. Only candidates declared FIT in Trial and attending interview shall be awarded the marks for the sports achievements, etc. No communication shall be entertained from candidates in this regard.
3. Distribution of marks: Maximum marks which can be awarded in the Trial and during interview shall be as follows:-

Date, venue and time for Trial will be intimated to the eligible candidate through post (under certificate of posting).

The venue for trial fixed by East Central Railway will be binding and final. Request for change of venue by the candidate Shall not be entertained.

The decision of East Central Railway in ail matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of application will be final and binding on the candidates.

EC Railway Important Instruction

The decision of Railway Administration in connection with formation of panel will be final. For non-ernpanelment of the candidate no correspondence will be entertained.

The Railway Administration will not be responsible for any postal delay or wrong deliver. Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidate.

The application which suffer from material irregularities such as unsigned, incomplete, illegible, without enclosures, without desired fee (in the form of Bank Draft or IPO), not in prescribed format, without attested copies of certificate/testimonials and the application which in the opinion of Railway Administration are otherwise invalid will be rejected at any stage.

Application received after 18.00 hrs of 21.12.2009 shall not be entertained. For any legal action arising out of the above, jurisdiction shall be CAT (Central Administrative Tribunal) Patna.
