UPPSC Recruitment 2009 - Junior Engineer, Publication Assistant



Public Works Department. U.P.

356 (Three hundred Fifty Six) Posts of Junior Engineer (Civil).

Nature of Post: Non Gazetted/Permanent.

Reservation: 75 Posts are reserved for Scheduled Caste, 07 Posts for Scheduled Tribes and 96 Posts for other Backward Class Candidates of U.P. Horizontal reservation will be admissible as per Rules. (Department No.: (Sewa-6/21).

Pay Scale: Rs.5000-150-8000/-

Essential Qualification:

  1. Applicant must have obtained on overseer's certificate (Diploma in Civil Engineering) from one of the Institutions mentioned in appendix 'B' of the U.P. Public Works Department Subordinate Engineering Rules: 1951 as amended:
  2. Produce a certificate from the Head of the Institutions from which he passed out, or from Collector of a District in Uttar Pradesh that he can read and write Hindi in Devnagari Script.

Note: This certificate will not be required from those applicants who have passdtheir High School examination with Hindi as one of the subjects.

Preferential Qualification: Those applicants.

  1. Who have served in the TerritorialArmy for a minimum period of two years or.
  2. Who have Obtained 'B' Certificate of National Cadet Corps.
  3. Who have completed One years Apprenticeship successfully.

Age: 21 to 35 years. Upper age relaxation will be given for reserved category candidates of U.P. as per Rules.

The upper Age limit will be greater by one year for those candidates who have trainee apprenticeship, subject to further condition that the candidate must be of minimum prescribed age on 01.07.2009 but must not be of the maximum age prescribed.

State Archaeology Department

01 (One) Post of Publication Assistant under U.P. State Archaeology Department.

Nature of the post: Non Gazetted / Permanent,

Pay Scale: Rs.5000-8000/- [Old Pay Scale] (Deptt. No.: S-3/2)

Essential Qualification: A second class Master's degree in Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology or in Indian Medieval History from a University established by law in India or a degree recognized by the Government as equivalent thereto.

Preferential Qualification:

  1. Must possess requisite knowledge pertaining to the work of publication and has good experience of that work.
  2. A candidate who has served in the Territorial army for a minimum period of two years or
  3. Obtained a "B" Certificate of National Cadet Corps, shall other things being equal, be given preference in the matter of direct recruitment.

Age: 21 to 35 years {Age relaxation as per rules)
