1. Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission Applications are invited upto 5.45 p.m on 20-07-2010 for direct recruitment to the following post in the Mobile Veterinary Unit in the Dairy Development Department in the Tamil Nadu General Service (Service Code 035) :

3. TNPSC 2010 Qualifications :
(A) Age Limit for TNPSC 2010 : (as on 01.07.2010).
Maximum TNPSC 2010 Age Limit : Should not have completed 30 years of age.
Note :
(1) No maximum age limit for SCs, SC (Arunthathiars on preferential basis), STs, MBCs / DCs, BCs (Other than BCMs), BCMs and Destitute Widows of all castes.
(2) Candidates not belonging to SCs, SC ((Arunthathiars on preferential basis), STs, MBCs / DCs, BCs (Other than BCMs), BCMs (i.e. "others") who have put in five years of service in the State / Central Government are not eligible to apply, even though they are within the age limit.
(B) Educational Qualification for TNPSC Veterinary Assistant Surgeon Vacancies 2010: Candidates should possess the following or its equivalent qualification on the date of this Notification, viz. 18-06-2010 :
A Degree in Veterinary Science of any University or Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission for the purpose of its grant.
Must be a Registered Veterinary practitioner under the Indian Veterinary Council Act 1984 (Central Act 52 of 1984).
Note : Candidates possessing the Certificate of Registration within the meaning of Tamil Nadu Registration of Veterinary Practitioners Act 1957 (Tamil Nadu Act XXI of 1957) may also apply producing an attested copy of the same along with the TNPSC application form.
But they should produce Certificate of Registration obtained under the Indian Veterinary Council Act 1984 (Central Act 52 of 1984) at the time of Oral Test.
(Details regarding equivalence of qualifications are given in paragraph 9 of the Commission’s "Instructions, etc. to candidates").
Candidates claiming equivalence of qualification should enclose necessary documents in support thereof.

Note :
(i) The existing syllabi for Veterinary Science subject Paper I and Paper II have been clubbed together and will constitute a Single syllabus. A single Question paper in the said syllabus is to be answered by the candidates. The said question paper will be set in English only.
(ii) The syllabus has been published in the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission Bulletin No.11 & dated 16.05.2001 at the pages 997 to 998 and is also available at the TNPSC website www.tnpsc.gov.in.
5. Centre for TNPSC Examination 2010 : Examination will be held at Chennai Centre only Note:Candidates should appear for the examination on their own expenses. The Commission reserves the right to increase the number of examination centres and to re-allot the candidates.
