1. TNPSC Applications are invited upto 5-45 p.m. on 19-03-2010 for direct recruitment to the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission vacancies in the following post:

3. Section Officer Scale of Pay: Rs.15,600 - 39,100 + Grade pay Rs.5400/-.
4. General Information for Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission Recruitment 2010:
A. The Rule of reservation of appointments is applicable to this post and the distribution of Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission vacancies will be as per rule in force.
B. The number of TNPSC vacancies advertised is only approximate and is liable to modification with reference to vacancy position at any time before finalisation of selection for Oral Test or selection for appointment, as the case may be.
C. Certificate Of Physical Fitness (To be produced after getting selected): Candidates selected for appointment to the post will be required to produce a certificate of physical fitness in the form prescribed for "other than Executive and Ministerial". The Standard of vision required of the candidate selected for the post is 'Standard- III or better'. Candidates with defective vision should produce eye fitness certificate from a qualified eye specialist.
D. The physically handicapped person should produce before appointment a certificate of physical fitness from the Medical Board to the effect that his / her handicap will not render him / her incapable of efficiently discharging the duties attached to the post to which he/she has been selected. The 3% reservation for PH persons apply to this post. However, no reserved turn for PH candidates arises.
E. Reservation of appointment to "Destitute Widows" and "Ex-servicemen" will not apply to this recruitment.
F. Any claim relating to the selection should be received within 90 days from the date of announcement of results and any claim received thereafter will receive no attention.
5. TNPSC 2010 Qualifications:
(A) Age (as on 01-07-2010): Should not have completed 32 years.
Note:
No TNPSC age limit for SCs, SC (A), STs, MBCs / DCs, BCs (Other than BCMs), BCMs and Destitute Widows of all castes.
Age relaxation of 5 years announced by the Government will be applicable to persons affected by the ban order as per the orders issued by the Government.
Candidates not belonging to SCs, SC (A)s. STs, MBC / DCs, BCs (Other than BCMs),BCMs (i.e. others) who have put in five years of service in the State / Central Government are not eligible to apply even though they are within the age limit.
(B) Educational Qualification for Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission TNPSC Recruitment:
Candidates should possess the following or its equivalent qualification on the date of this Notification, viz. 17-02-2010:
A Degree in Law of any University or Institution recognised by the University Grants Commission for the purpose of its grant.
- Proficiency in Tamil.
Explanation: For this purpose, a person will be deemed to have proficiency in Tamil if he has passed the SSLC Public Examination or its equivalent examination with Tamil as one of the languages or studied the High School Course in Tamil Medium and passed the SSLC Public Examination in Tamil Medium or passed the Second Class Language Test (Full Test) in Tamil conducted by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission. (Note under paragraph 10 of the Commission's Instructions, etc. to candidates' will not apply to recruitment for this post).

Experience in translation from English to Tamil of Bills, Acts or Rules made under the Acts for a period of not less than one year. (or)
Experience in Legislative drafting for a period of not less than one year. (and)
(4) Must have practised as an Advocate of the High Court of a State for a period of not less than three years.
(Details regarding equivalence of qualifications are given in paragraph 9 of the Commission's instructions, etc. to candidates').

Note:
The existing syllabi for the subject Law Paper-I & Paper-ll have been clubbed together so as to constitute as a separate syllabus for a single paper. A single question paper in the said syllabus is to be answered by the candidates applying for the post of Section Officer (Translation). The said question paper will be set both in English and Tamil.
The syllabi have been published in the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission Bulletin No.11, dated 16.5.01 at page no.869.
The syllabi for the subject Law is also available in the TNPSC website at 'www.tnpsc.gov.in'.
The syllabus for the Translation paper will be on translation of Bills, Acts, Rules made under the Acts from English to Tamil.
7. Centre for Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission Examinations:
Examinations will be held at Chennai Centre only (Code No.001). Candidates should appear for the examination at their own expenses.
