1. TNPSC Applications are invited upto 5.45 p.m on 19-03-2010 for direct recruitment to the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission vacancies in the following post.

• Candidates should use only one TNPSC OMR application form even if he / she opts for the posts mentioned against Sl.No.4 and 6 and they need not fill up the Service Code in Column (3) of OMR.
• Women candidates alone are eligible to apply for the post of School Assistant (Home Science and Tamil Pandit in the Social Welfare Department, Grade-I).

3. General Information for Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission Recruitment 2010:

A. The rule of reservation of appointments is applicable to each post separately and the distribution of the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission vacancies will be as per the rule in force.

B. The number of TNPSC vacancies advertised is only approximate and is liable for modification with reference to the TNPSC vacancy position at any time before finalisation of selection for Oral Test or selection for appointment, as the case may be.

C. If no qualified and suitable women candidates are available for selection against the TNPSC vacancies reserved for them, those TNPSC vacancies will be filled by male candidates belonging to the respective communal categories (except School Assistant (Home Science) and Tamil Pandit in Social Welfare Department).

D. Certificate of Physical Fitness for TNPSC Exam 2010:

Candidates selected for appointment to the posts mentioned against Sl.No.1-4 will be required to produce a certificate of Physical Fitness in the form prescribed for Ministerial Service. The Standard of Vision prescribed for each post is Standard–III or Better.

Candidates selected for appointment to the posts mentioned against Sl.No.5 & 6 will be required to produce Certificate of Physical Fitness in the form prescribed for Other than Executive and Ministerial. The Standard of Vision prescribed for these post is Standard-III.

E. The Physically Handicapped persons should produce a certificate of physical fitness from the Medical Board to the effect that his / her handicap will not render him / her incapable of efficiently discharging the duties attached to the post to which he / she has been selected before appointment. PH persons are eligible for 3% reservation. However, no reserved turn for PH candidates arises for this TNPSC recruitment.

F. Reservation to "Destitute Widows" & "Ex-Serviceman" will not apply for this TNPSC recruitment.

G. Any claim relating to the selection (not related to candidature or / and claims made in the TNPSC application form) should be received within 90 days from the date of announcement of results and any claim received thereafter will receive no attention.

4. Qualifications for Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission Exam 2010:

(A) Age: (as on 01.07.2010)

1. Minimum TNPSC age limit: Should have completed 18 years for posts included Tamil Nadu Social Defence Subordinate Service. Should have completed 20 years for posts included Tamil Nadu Social Welfare Department (for all candidates).
2. Maximum TNPSC 2010 age limit: Should not have completed 35 years. (for all posts).

Note:

1. For the Post of Tamil Pandit Grade-I and Tamil Pandit Maximum age limit will be increased by 5 years in respect of candidates belonging to SCs, SC (Arunthathiyars on preferential basis) STs and Destitute Widows of all castes and 2 years in respect of candidates belonging to MBCs / DCs.BCs (other than BCMs) & BCMs who possess the minimum general educational qualification.

2. No maximum age limit for SCs, SC (Arunthathiyars on preferential basis), STs, MBCs / DCs, BCs (Other than BCMs), BCMs and Destitute Widows of all castes.

3. Age relaxation of 5 years in the maximum age limit will be applicable to persons affected by the ban order as per the orders issued in G.O.Ms.No. 98 & 152, P & AR (S) Department, dated 17.07.2006 and 18.09.2006 respectively and subsequent clarification thereon.

4. Candidates not belonging to SCs, SC (Arunthathiyars on preferential basis), STs, MBCs / DCs and BCs (Other than BCMs) and BCMs (i.e. others) who have put in five years of service in the State / Central Government are not eligible to apply even though they are within the age limit.

5. The Technical and Non-Technical Staff of TANSI who are facing retrenchment and have not been absorbed in the Government Corporations / Undertakings may also apply (evidence to be produced), if they satisfy all the prescribed qualifications except age. The relevant age rule will be relaxed by the Government in their favour if they come up for selection.
