Note: (Common for all the posts)

  1. The candidates are given the option of appearing in any one (U.G. or P.G level) or two ( One U.G. and other P.G. level) of the examinations mentioned in para-4 (a) above in accordance with their qualification and will be admitted to the examination / examinations based on their qualification and option exercised by them in optional subject -1 (for U.G. Level) and optional subject - 2 (for P.G. Level) in column 22 of TNPSC OMR application form. Candidates should specify the U.G. Degree subject code in Optional Subject-1 and P.G. Degree subject code in Optional Subject - 2 of Column 22 of the TNPSC OMR application form. They should choose only the subject in which they have obtained the qualification.
  2. The Existing Syllabi for all the subjects in P.G. Degree Standard and the subject Geology in Degree Standard under Paper I and Paper II have been clubbed together and constituted as a single syllabus.
  3. The question papers in the language subject Sanskrit will be set in the respective language and for the subject Anthropology the question paper will be set in English only and for the remaining subjects, the question paper will be set both in English and Tamil.
  4. The subject paper History in Degree level will consist of questions in Indian History.
  5. The syllabi have been published in the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission Bulletin No. 11, dated 16.05.01 as follows:

8. Centre for Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission Examination:

Examination will be held at Chennai only (Centre Code No.001). Candidates should appear for the written examination and for Oral Test (If they are called) at their own expenses. The Commission reserves the right to increase the number of examination centres and to re-allot the candidates.

9. Exercising of Options:

Candidate who opts for and eligible to apply for more than one post should specify the Post Code Nos. in Col.24 of the TNPSC OMR application form as per their preferential order. This order of preference for posts will be subject to the order of selection mentioned in para 10 (b).

If a candidate has not opted for any of the posts, he / she will be considered for the post in the order as specified in para-1 of the notification subject to his / her eligibility to the posts and with reference to the rule of reservation of appointments.
