6. Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission Recruitment 2010 Educational Qualifications:
(A) TNPSC 2010 Age Limit (as on 01.07.2010).
Minimum TNPSC age limit: Should have completed 18 years (for all candidates).
Maximum TNPSC age limit: Should not have completed 30 years.
Note:
No maximum age limit for SCs, SC (Arunthathiyars on preferential basis), STs, MBCs / DCs, BCs (Other than BCMs), BCMs and Destitute Widows of all castes.
Age relaxation of 5 years in the maximum age limit will be applicable to persons affected by the ban order as per the orders of the Government.
Candidates not belonging to SCs, SC (Arunthathiyars on preferential basis), STs, MBCs / DCs and BCs (Other than BCMs) and BCMs who have put in five years of service in the State / Central Government are not eligible to apply even though they are within the age limit.
The Technical and Non-Technical Staff of TANSI who are facing retrenchment and have not been absorbed in the Government Corporations / Undertakings may also apply (evidence to be produced), if they satisfy all the prescribed qualifications except age. The relevant age rule will be relaxed by the Government in their favour if they come up for selection.
B. Educational Qualification for Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission Recruitment:
Candidates should possess the following or its equivalent qualification on the date of this Notification, viz. 05-03-2010:

(or) (ii)ADegree in Archaeology of any University or Institution recognised by the University Grants Commission for the purpose of its grants with a working knowledge in Sanskrit and knowledge of Dravidian Languages and Scripts and Ancient Indian History. If no candidates with the above qualification is available candidates, who possess a degree in History of any University or Institution recognised by the University Grants Commission for the purpose of its grants with working knowledge of Sanskrit will be considered. Other things being equal, preference will be given to those who possess higher qualification in Sanskrit. |

5. General Information for TNPSC Exam 2010:
A. The rule of reservation of appointments is applicable to each post separately.
B. The number of TNPSC vacancies advertised is only approximate and is liable for modification with reference to the vacancy position at any time before finalisation of selection for Oral Test.
C. If no qualified and suitable women candidates are available for selection against the TNPSC vacancies reserved for them, those TNPSC vacancies will be filled by male candidates belonging to the respective communal categories.
D. Certificate of Physical Fitness: Candidates selected for appointment to any one of the above posts will be required to produce a certificate of Physical Fitness in the form prescribed for Other than Executive and Ministerial. The Standard of Vision prescribed is Standard-Ill or Better. Candidates with defective vision should produce eye fitness certificate from qualified Eye specialist.
E. The Physically Handicapped persons should produce a certificate of physical fitness from the Medical Board to the effect that his / her handicap will not render him / her incapable of efficiently discharging the duties attached to the post to which he / she has been selected before appointment. PH persons are eligible for 3% reservation for this recruitment. However, no reserved turn for PH candidate arises for any of the posts.
F. Reservation to "Destitute Widows" and "Ex-Servicemen" will apply only for the posts of Assistant Curator and Gallery Guide. However, no reserved turn for Ex-Servicemen candidates arises.
G. Any claim relating to the selection (not related to candidature or / and claims made in the TNPSC application form) should be received within 90 days from the date of announcement of results and any claim received thereafter will receive no attention.
H. 'Arunthathiyars' means the castes, Arunthathiyars, Chakkiliyan, Madari, Madiga, Pagadi, Thoti and Adi Andhra Within the list of 76 Scheduled Castes notified by the President of India under Article 341 of the Constitution of India by the Constitution (Scheduled Castes) order, 1950 as amended from time to time.
