1. Applications are invited for filling 3 posts of Under Secretary (Legal), General State Service, Group-A in the Law & Judiciary Department, Government of Maharashtra.

2. Reservation for Physically challenged persons:
1. As per G.R., Law & Judiciary Department No. EST-1097 dated 7th June, 2004, amongst physically challenged candidates only Partially Sighted, Partially Deaf and Locomotor Disability (One leg affected) candidates are eligible for the post.
Candidates are eligible for this post and candidates only who submit the certificate mentioning clearly such type of disability will only be considered for the post.
3. Pay: Rs.10,000 - 325-15,200/- plus other admissible allowances as per prevalent rules.
4. Age:
- Not less than 28 years & Not more than 40 years of age as on 1" August, 2009. Relaxable as per rules.
- The uppar age shall not apply to the employee of Government of Maharashtra.
- The age limit will be relaxed in favour of candidates with exceptional qualification or experience or both
5. Qualifications: Candidates must possess
- Assistant (Upper Division) (Legal Side) for a period of not less than eight years; or
- Superintendent (Legal Side) for a period of not less than five years ; or
- Civil Judge (Junior Division) & Judicial Magistrate First Class in Judicial service for a period of not less than three years; or
- have been advocate in the Height Court or Courts subordinate thereto for a period of not less than five years;
6. Duties & Responsibilities: The Details regarding duties and responsibilities of the post are available on web site of the Maharashtra Public Service Commission.
7. General: Selected candidates shall be on probation for a period of two years.
8. Notes
The Commission at its discretion may shortlist the applicants for interview based on reasonable criteria i.e. experience and / or higher qualification, etc. OR may conduct written objective type (questions) screening test to shortlist candidates for interview. The syllabus and medium of question paper and other details for the test shall be displayed on Commission's Website.
Copies of certificates should not be attached along with the Application Form. However, candidates are required to furnish an affidavit on a stamp paper of Rs.100/- to be affirmed before Notary in respect of correctness and authenticity of the information mentioned in the application form. The Application Form should be accompanied by an affidavit and summary sheet, failing which it is treated as incomplete and will be rejected
The candidate should submit all the original certificates alongwith one set of zerox copies at the time of interview as per instruction given in Chapter-4 of the Prospectus provided alongwith the application form
