1. Applications are invited for filling 10 posts of Superintendent, District Prison, Class II / Deputy Superintendent, Central Prison, Class II
The details regarding vacancies are as follows :-

If suitable candidates for the post reserved for N.T.(C) are not available, the post shall be filled by suitable candidates from any of the other categories amongst D.T(A), N.T.(B) & N.T.(D) as per Goverment, orders)
2. Reservation for Physically challenged persons:
- As per G.R., Home Dept. No. Sankima 1003 / 1033/ CR 109 / PRS-1, dated 11th February. 2009, physically challenged candidates are not eligible for the posts.
3. Pay Rs.7450-225-11050/- plus other admissible allowances as per prevalent rules.
4. Age:
- Not less than 21 years & not more than 33 years as on 1st August, 2009.(Relaxable as per rules)
- The uppar age shall not apply to the employee of Government of Maharashtra.
- The age limit may be relaxed in favour of candidates with exceptional qualification and / or experience.
5. MPSC 2009 Qualifications:
Candidates mast possess
A Bachelor's degree in at least second class in Arts, Science, Commerce, Law or Agriculture of a recognized University or institution.
A Post Graduate Degree or P.G. Diploma in any of the following subjects from a recognized University or institution.
- Sociology
- Penology
- Criminology
- Delinquency
- Correctional Administration, and
A robust constitution.
Preference will be given to the candidates having administrative experience or experience in industries.
6. Duties & Responsibilities: The Details regarding duties and responsibilities of the post are available on web site of the Maharashtra Public Service Commission.
7. General: Selected candidates shall be on probation for a period of two years.
8. Notes
The Commission at its discretion may shortlist the applicants for interview based on reasonable criteria i.e. experience and/or higher qualification, etc. OR may conduct Written objective type (questions) screening test to shortlist candidates for interview. The syllabus and medium of question paper and other details for the test shall be displayed on Commission's Website.
Copies of certificates should not be attached along with the Application Form. However, candidates are required to furnish an affidavit on a stamp paper of Rs.100/- to be affirmed before Notary in respect of correctness and authenticity of the information mentioned in the application form. The Application Form should be accompanied by an affidavit and summary sheet, failing which it is treated as incomplete and will be rejected
The candidate should submit all the original certificates alongwith one set of zerox copies at the time of interview as per instruction given in Chapter-4 of the Prospectus provided alongwith the application form
