Applications are invited for 12 posts of Orthopedic Surgeon, Maharashtra Medical & Health Services, Grade - A

Details regarding vacancies are as below :-

[Out of 12 posts, One post reserved for Physically Challenged Candidates - Locomotor's Disability (Only One Leg Affected)]

[The reservation specified for the D.T. (A) shall be intertransferable. If suitable candidates for the posts reserved for D.T.(A) are not available, the posts shall be filled by suitable candidates form any of the other categories amongst N.T.(B), N.T.(C) & N.T.(D) as per Goverment orders/Act.]

Reservation for Physically challenged persons :-

  1. As per G.R., Public Health Department No.Anang 2004/55/Aa-2, dated 27th July, 2004 amongst Physically Challenged candidates Only Locomotor's Disability (Only One Leg affected) candidates are eligible for this post and candidates only who submit the certificate mentioning clearly such type of disability will only be considered for the post.
  2. The reservation for Physically Challenged persons is as per Government Circular, Social Justice and Special Assistance Dept. No. Apang-2007/C.R.61/ Sudhar-3, dated 20th April. 2007.

Pay:

  1. Rs.10000-325-15200 plus other admissible allowances as per prevalent rules.

[Total Emolument Approx. Rs.27.600/- per month] [Likely to be further revised in the Sixth pay Commission]

Age:

  1. Not more than 35 years as on 1st August, 2009. Relaxable as per rules.
  2. The upper age limit shall not apply to the employee of Government of Maharashtra.
  3. Age limit may be relaxed by Government on recommendation of the Commission in favour of candidates having exceptional qualification or experience or both.

Maharashtra Public Service Commission Recruitment 2009 Qualification

Qualification: Candidates must possess

  1. MBBS degree of a "Statutory University or any other qualification specified in the first or second schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act 1956 and
  2. M.S.(Orthopedics) OR M.S.(General Surgery) with Diploma in Orthopedics (D.Ortho) or Post graduate Post graduate diploma in Orthopedics (D.Ortho) or a qualification accepted as equivalent by the Medical Council of India and
  3. Experience as Anesthetist in a big hospital for not less than 5 years in case of candidate holding post graduate degree and not less than 7 years in the case of those holding post graduate diploma after acquiring the MBBS degree.
  4. If at any stage of selection, the Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates possessing requisite experience are not available to fill up the vacancies reserved for the candidate belonging to the Scheduled Tribes & Denotified Tribes, then the Commission may in the matter of such selection, relax the period of experience to the extent of 40% & select suitable candidates belonging to such Tribes.

Duties & Responsibilities:

General:

  1. Selected candidates will be on probation for a period of two years.
  2. There are prospects of promotion to the post of Deputy Director of Health Services (Rs.12000-375-16500)
  3. Selected candidates will be required to sign an agreement embodying the condition of service including the condition to serve Government for a period of five years or in default to pay a penalty of Rs.500/- or such other sum as may be prescribed by the Government.
  4. The selected candidate will have to get himself/herself registered under Maharashtra medical Council Act-1965, before joining of his/her name should be borne on the Indian Medical Council Register under the Indian Medical Council Act 1956.
  5. He will be debarred from doing any private practice but will be paid compensatory allowance in lien according to the rules.

Note:

  1. In addition the candidates should attach separate sheet of details of qualification, along with application form, starting from S.S.C., H.S.C. and year wise marks of degree and class etc. of each year as per column 21 or 31 in the application form. Specimen of proforma is available on the web site of Commission in 'specimen sheet of details of qualifications' section'.
  2. The Commission at its discretion, may shortlist the applications for interview, based on reasonable criteria i.e. experience and/or higher qualification, etc. OR may conduct Written objective type Screening Test (multiple choice question) to shortlist candidates for interview. The syllabus and medium of question paper and other details for the test shall be displayed on the Commission's web site.
  3. Copies of certificates should not be attached along with the Application Form. However, candidates are required to furnish an affidavit on a stamp paper of Rs.100/-, affirmed before a Notary in respect of correctness and authenticity of the information mentioned in the Application Form. Specimen of affidavit is published on the website in the "Specimen form of Affidavit for Direct Recruitment Posts" Section.
  4. The Application Form should be accompanied by an affidavit, failing which it will be treated as incomplete & will be rejected.
  5. The candidate should submit all the certificates at the time of interview as per instruction given in Chapter-4 of the Prospectus provided along with the application form.
