Applications are invited for 1 post of Forest Statistician, in General State Service, Grade - A

Details regarding vacancies are as below:

Reservation for Physically challenged persons:

  1. As per G.R., Revenue & Forest Department No.FTR-15/04/CR136/F-4, dated 12th July, 2004 amongst Physically Challenged candidates Only Partially Sighted, Partially Deaf & Locomotor's Disability (Only One Leg affected) candidates are eligible for this post and candidates only who submit the certificate mentioning clearly such type of disability will only be considered for the post.

Pay:

  1. Rs.8000-275-13500 plus other admissible allowances as per prevalent rules.

[Total Emolument Approx. Rs.22,080/- per month] [Likely to be further revised in the Sixth pay Commission]

Age:

  1. Not more than 35 years as on 1st August, 2009. Relaxable as per rules.
  2. The upper age limit shall not apply to the employee of Government of Maharashtra.
  3. Age limit may be relaxed by Government on recommendation of the Commission in favour of candidates having exceptional qualification or experience or both.

Maharashtra Public Service Commission Recruitment Qualification

Qualification: Candidates must possess :-

  1. A Master's degree or higher degree of any statutory University in statistics or with statistics as a special subject OR
  2. A Bachelor's degree of any statutory University, at least in the second class, and a post-graduate degree diploma of any statutory University or of any recognized Institution, with statistics as a special subject OR
  3. A Honours degree in statistics of any statutory foreign University or B.Sc.(Economics) degree of the London University with statistics as a special subject OR
  4. A Master's degree in Mathematics with a post-graduate degree or diploma in statistics of any statutory University or of any recognized Institution such as the I.A.R.S.,New Delhi or I.S.L. Culcutta OR
  5. A Master's degree in Mathematics with a post-graduate degree or diploma of any statutory University or of any recognized Institution with statistics as a special subject. and
  6. Experience of statistical work for not less than 5 years.

Preference may be given to a candidate having experience of statistical work in the forestry sector being work on forestry items, either in a Department of Government or in private industry.

General:

  1. Selected candidates will be on probation for a period of two years.
  2. There are prospects of promotion to the post of Chief Forest Statistician.

Note:

  1. In addition the candidates should attach separate sheet of details of qualification, along with application form, starting from S.S.C., H.S.C. and year wise marks of degree and class etc. of each year as per column 21 or 31 in the application for Specimen of proforma is available on the website of Commission in 'specimen sheet of details of qualifications' section'.
  2. The Commission at its discretion, may shortlist the applications for interview, based on reasonable criteria i.e. experience and/or higher qualification, etc. OR may conduct Written objective type Screening Test (multiple choice question) to short candidates for interview. The syllabus and medium of question paper and other details for the test shall be displayed on to Commission's web site.
  3. Copies of certificates should not be attached along with the Application Form. However, candidates are required ' furnish an affidavit on a stamp paper of Rs.100/-, affirmed before a Notary in respect of correctness and authenticity the information mentioned in the Application Form. Specimen of affidavit is published on the website in the "Special form of Affidavit for Direct Recruitment Posts" Section.
  4. The Application Form should be accompanied by an affidavit, failing which it will be treated as incomplete & will be rejected.
  5. The candidate should submit all the certificates at the time of interview as per instruction given in Chapter-4 of the Prospectus provided along with the application form.
