Applications are invited for filling 2 posts of Assistant Director of Languages (Translation and Terminology), General State Service, Group-B.

Reservation for Physically Challenged Persons:-
As per G.R., General Administration Dept. No. MISC-2005/571/C.R.48/05/20-B, dt. 3rd October, 2005, amongst physically challenged candidates only partially sighted, partially deaf and one leg affected / one arm affected candidates are eligible for this post. However it is to be noted that there is no reservation for physically challenged person for the said post.
Pay: Rs.6500-200-10500 plus other admissible allowances as per prevalent Rules (T.E. appox. Rs.18000/-).
Age:
- Not more than 35 years as on 1st August, 2009. Relaxable as per rules.
- The upper age limit shall not apply to the employees of Government of Maharashtra.
- Age limit may be relaxed in favour of candidates having exceptional qualifications or experience or both.
Educational Qualification:
Candidate must
- possess a Bachelor's degree in Marathi at least in second class; or a Master's degree in Marathi and thereafter
possess experience in translation work or in coining of terminology or in preparation of dictionaries or glossaries into Marathi for a period of not less than three years, in a responsible position.
have sound knowledge of English and working knowledge of Sanskrit.
Duties & Responsibilities:

General: Selected candidates will be on probation for a period of two years. There are prospects of promotion to the post of Deputy Director of Languages / Director of Languages, Group-A.
Note :
In addition the candidates should attach separate sheet of details of qualifications, along ' with application form, starting from S.S.C., H.S.C., and year wise marks of degree and class etc. of each year as per column 21 or 31 in the application form. The Commission at it's discretion, may shortlist the applicants for interview based on reasonable criteria, i.e. experience and/or higher qualification, etc. OR may conduct written objective type screening test (multiple choice question) to shortlist the candidates for interview. The syllabus and medium of question paper and other details for the test shall be displayed on the Commission's Website.
Copies of certificates should not be attached with application form. However, candidates are required to furnish a affidavit on a stamp paper of Rs.100/- to be affirmed before Notary in respect of correctness and authenticity of the information mentioned in the application form. Specimen of affidavit is published on the web site in the "Specimen form of Affidavit for Direct Recruitment Posts" section.
The Application Form should be accompanied by an affidavit, failing which it will be treated as incomplete & will be rejected.
The candidate should submit all the original certificates alongwith one set of xerox copies of the certificates at the time of interview as per instruction given in chapter-4 of the prospectus provided alongwith the application form.
