Maharashtra Public Service Commission Exam 2009 Eligibility

Eligibility / Non-eligibility in the sub-categories of Physically Challenged Candidates for the remaining subjects as per advertisement is mentioned below and only those candidates shall be considered for the said post, who submit disability certificate containing specifically the categories of disability.

The reservation for Physically Challenged persons shall be as per Government Circular, Social Justice and Special Assistance Department, No. Apang-2007/C.R.61/ Sudhar-3, dt. 20th April, 2007.

Pay:- Rs.12,000 - 420 - 18,300 plus other admissible allowances as per prevalent Rules.(T.E. Approx. Rs. 33000/-)

Age:

  1. Not more than 35 years as on 1st July, 2009. Relaxable as per Rules.
  2. The upper age limit shall not apply to Maharashtra State Government Servants.
  3. Age limit may be relaxed by the Government on the recommendation of the Commission in favour of candidates possessing exceptional qualifications or experience or both.

Qualifications:

The Candidate must possess the qualification mentioned below or qualification recognised by Medical Council of India as equivalent thereto:-

3General SurgeryM.D.(Surgery)/M.S.(General Surgery) AND Five years experience as Assistant Professor / Lecturer in General Surgery in a recognised Medical College.
4PaediatricsM.D.(Paediatrics) AND Five years experience as Assistant Professor / Lecturer in Paediatrics in a recognised Medical College.
5AnesthesiologyM.D.(Anaesthesialogy) / M.S.(Anaesthesiology) AND Five years experience as Assistant Professor / Lecturer in Anaesthesiology in a recognised Medical College.
6BiochemistryM.D.(Biochemistry) / M.B.B.S. with M.Sc. (Medical Biochemistry)/ M.Sc. (Medical Biochemistry) with Ph.D. (Medical Biochemistry)/ M.Sc. (Medical Biochemistry) with D.Sc.(Medical Biochemistry) AND Five years experience as Assistant Professor / Lecturer in Biochemistry in recognised Medical College.
7PathologyM.D.(Pathology) /M.D.(Pathology & Bacteriology) /M.D.(Pathology with Bacteriology)/ Ph.D.(Pathology) / D.SC.(Pathology) AND Five years experience as Assistant Professor / Lecturer in Pathology in a recognised Medical College.
8NeurologyD.M. (Neurology) AND Two yours experience as Assistant Professor / Lecturer in Neurology in a recognised Medical College.
9Skin & V.D.M.D.(Dermatology)/ M.D.(Dermatology & Venerology)/M.D.(Medicine) with D.D. AND Five years experience as Assistant Professor / Lecturer in Dermatology & Venerology in a recognised Medical College.

Preference may be given to candidates having experience of research work in the relevant subject and those who have published articles of research work in the relevant subject in a recognised medical journal.

Minimum of Four Research Publications indexed in Index Medicus / national journals is desirable.

All medical teachers must possess a basic University or equivalent qualification included in any one of the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956).

Medical Teachers must possess the requisite recognised post-graduate medical qualification in their respective subjects.

The post-graduate qualifications mentioned in the Schedule shall stand amended in accordance with the recognition or de-recognition of such post-graduate qualification by the Medical Council of India from time to time.

In exceptional case, where candidates with experience prescribed in the para 5.1 above are not available, the Goverment may, on the recommendation of the Commission, make appointment to a post of Associate Professor on consideration of merits of the candidates & make a simultaneous reference to the Medical Council of India for relaxation of the prescribed experience.

Where a candidate has worked in a recognised research institution or a medical college and has produced original research work of a very high quality recognised as original scientific contribution at a national or international level or at both, it will be considered by Goverment as equivalent to teaching experience provided other conditions are fulfilled.

Appointment of candidates possessing the non medical Doctorate qualification as mentioned in the advertisement to the posts of Associate Professor in Biochemistry shall be made, if candidates with requisite medical qualifications in this subject is not available.

The total number of posts of Associate Professors in this subject held by such persons with non medical qualifications shall not exceed 50 per cent.
