Applications are invited from Male Indian Candidates for the post of Constable (General Duty) in BSF against Sports Quota i.e. Athletics, Wrestling, Weight Lifting, Hockey and Football (total 10 vacancies) on temporary basis likely to be permanent in the pay scale of Rs.5200-20200/- with Grade Pay of Rs.2000/- plus usual allowances admissible to Central Government employees from lime to time.

In addition, Ration allowance, Medical assistance, free uniform, free accommodation,. free leave pass etc., are admissible to BSF personnel. The post has all India liability and selected candidate can be posted any where in India and even abroad.

They will be governed under BSF Act and Rules as well as CCS Rules. The selected candidates will be governed by the new Contributory-Pension Scheme, which came into effect from 01 Jan 2004.

2. BSF Recruitment 2009 Eligibility

Age: Between 18 to 23 years as on 01.08.2009. Upper age limit is relaxable by 03 years for OBC and 05 years for SC/ST candidates.

3. Education-Matriculation or equivalent for Border Security Force Recruitment.

4. Physical Standards for BSF Constable Recruitment

Note:- Men belonging to hill areas should produce hill area certificate issued by concerned State Authority at the time of recruitment so that they can take the benefit of relaxation in height.

5. BSF Recruitment Constable 2009 Medical Standards

1. Eye sight:- Minimum distance vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 for both eyes without glasses.
2. The candidates must not have knock knee, flat feet, varicose vein or squint in eyes and they should possess, high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily-health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.

6. Border Security Force Recruitment Eligibility in Sports. Athletics/Wrestling/Weight Lifting/Hockey/Football

A candidate should have participated in National / Junior National / All India Inter University / State Championship, or Medal winning team in Inter School / College tournaments.

Note:-

1. The sportsmen should have represented India or State in the National level competitions in any of the disciplines mentioned above
2. Each candidate has to qualify the qualitative requirement prescribed for each event during the trial /test at the time of recruitment
3. The standard of the candidates-in the irrespective sports will be ascertained on the basis of merit drawn after taking into consideration of their last 03 years achievements
4. Preference, will be given to those candidates who have won medals for the country in the recognized Inter "National Sports competitions or have represented the country in recognized current International sports competitions or have won Gold/Silver medals in Senior National / National Games during 2006, 2007 and 2008
5. Final-selection of the sportsmen will be done on the basis of their sports achievements, educational qualification and qualitative requirement prescribed for-recruitment of sportsmen. The decision of the Recruitment Board with regard to matters connected with this recruitment will be final in all respects and no further correspondence will be made with the rejected applicants for Recruitment
6. Candidates will undertake journey to the place of recruitment at their own risk and cost. No TA/DA is admissible during recruitment trial / test, (vi) BSF / Govt. of India will not be responsible for any injury/accident during journey or at the time of conducting trial/test of the candidate.

7. BSF Recruitment Personnel serving in Government /Semi Government department may send their applications through Proper Channel along with no Objection Certificate

8. Physical Efficiency Test for Border Security Force Recruitment:

Physical efficiency test viz, One mile run, 11 Ft Long Jump and 3.5 Ft High Jump.

9. BSF Recruitment 2009 Written test:

Objective type (General knowledge) 25 marks and Descriptive type, viz- Essay writing, dictation and mathematics etc.- 25 marks.

10. Interview for BSF:

To check personal bearing, response, orientation, general level of intelligence etc.

11. Must qualify, the Physical Efficiency Test, Written Test, Trial Test and Interview.

Application in the prescribed format at either by type written or neatly hand. written on one side only on foolscap plain paper with recent passport size photographs affixing" on application duly attested by GO be sent to the following address:

So as to reach within one month from the date of publication of advertisement through ordinary post alongwith following documents:-

1. Postal order or Demand Draft for Rs.50/- (for General and OBC candidates only) in favour of Inspector.General, BSF Punjab Frontier, Jalandhar payable at State. Bank of India, BSF Campus Jalandhar, Code-No. 6596.
2. Attested copies of certificates / testimonial as proof of Educational qualification and age / date of birth and Sports.
3. Attested copy of Caste/Category Certificates for SC / ST / OBC candidates given by an Officer not below Tehsildar or SDO / SDM etc.
4. Attested copy of Domicile Certificate issued by an Officer not below Tehsildar or SDO / SDM etc.
5. One self addressed envelope of size 23 x 10 cms affixed with Postage stamp of Rs.5/- bearing name and full postal address with Pin code
6. A form for issue of Admit Card will be filled in and forwarded along with passport size, photograph duly attested by a Gazetted Officer with seal as per Annexure-ll along with the application form.

13. BSF Recruitment 2009 Selection Process

Admit card with roll number and general instructions for appearing for test/Interview will be issued 15 days prior to the date of test / Interview to the eligible candidates.

Candidate will be called for test/trial at any suitable venue as decided by competent authority. Firm date and venue for conducting trial/test will be intimated to eligible candidates only after scrutinizing their sports achievements.

Incomplete applications will be summarily rejected and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained. Applications received after one month from the Date of Publication of advertisement will not be accepted
