2. Border Security Force 2010 Age Limit and Relaxation :
Between 20 and 25 years. The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the closing date for receipt of application from candidates i.e 30 days from the date of publication of the advertisement in Employment News including candidates belonging to Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh Division of Jammu and Kashmir State. Lahaul and Bpiti District and Pangi Sub Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, the Union Territory of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands or Lakshadweep.
Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST and Government Servant (including serving BSF personnel) and 03 years for OBC candidates.
The relaxation in upper age limit of 05 years shall also be admissible to all candidates who had ocdinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 01 Jan 80 to 31 Dec 89. The candidates from the State of Jammu & Kashmir claiming age relaxation should produce a certificate obtained from the District Magistrate within whose jurisdiction they had ordinarily resided or from authority designated in this behalf by the Government, of J&K.
The relaxation in upper age limit of 05 years shall also be admissible to the children and dependent family members of those who were killed in the communal riots of the year 1984 and Gujrat of the year 2002. For getting this benefit, the children and dependent family members of those killed in the riots should produce a certificate to that effect from the concerned District Collectors. A candidate can apply against vacancies in any State/UT if he fulfils other conditions, however, to avail of the present relaxation he/she has to produce the certificate from the District, wherein the victim was killed. SC/ST/OBC relaxation, as per Government, instructions will be in addition.
Saving - Nothing in this advertisement shall affect reservations, relaxation of age limit and other concessions required to be provided for the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Ex-Servicemen and other Special Categories of persons in accordance with the orders, issued by the Central Government from time to time in this regard.
