Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) is proposed to fill up of the following Gazetted Group 'A' posts on deputation or re-employment basis.

SSB Eligibility Conditions 2010 :

SSB Vacancies for the post of Commandant (Ordnance) :

1. Lieutenant Colonet / colonel of Army Ordinance Corps who has successfully undergone Armament and Ammunition Technical Officers Course and should have worked in Ammunition depots for a minimum period of 12 years and should have experience in technical activities related to ammunition and explosives, Lt. Colonels / Colonels of Army Ordinance Corps who fulfill the criteria laid down above and are due to retire or who are to be transferred to reserve within a period of one year and having the requisite experience and qualification prescribed shall also be considered. Such persons would be given deputation terms upto the date on which they are due for release from the Armed Force, thereafter their services may be continued on re-employment.
2. The maximum age limit for appointment by transfer on deputation (including short-term contract) and transfer shall be not exceeding 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications by the Department / Office.

SSB Recruitment for the post of Chief Inspector of Armaments :

An Officer of the rank of Lieutenant Colonel (Selection Grade) from Army Ordnance Corps on deputation or on re-employment basis after his retirement from the Army with following eligibility condition :

(a) SSB Age Limit : Below 55 years.

(b) Should have rendered 20 years service as an officer in the Army Ordnance Corps.

(c) Compulsory Technical Qualifications for SSB Jobs 2010 :

1. Armaments & Ammunition Technical Officer's Course.
2. Higher Ordnance Officer's Management Course.

(d) Desirable for SSB Vacancies 2010 : Material Management Course.

(e) Experience :

1. Minimum 12 years experience in handling and performing technical activities in Armament, Ammunition, and Explosive.
2. Should have worked in an Ammunition Depot for 2 to 4 years.

Note :

1. Officers qualified in the TSSO course with at least 6 years experience in an Ammunition Depot may be considered for this appointment.
2. Persons holding equivalent rank in the Navy and Air Force Fulfilling the corresponding conditions prescribed shall also be eligible.
