National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI), a premier Research Institute under Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi, is involved in multidisciplinary R & D programs of both basic and applied nature in the areas of Earth Sciences - Geophysics, Geology, Geochemistry and Geochronology.
Major focal themes of R & D include: Exploration for Hydrocarbon, Mineral and Groundwater resources, Earthquake hazard assessment and monitoring, Understanding the Earth's Lithosphere and Interior and Geodynamics, Earth's Environment.
It has excellent facilities in all the above disciplines.

I. National Geophysical Research Institute Recruitment of Scientist Gr. IV (1) - 11 Posts
Pay Band: 3 / Rs.15600 - 39100 with Grade pay of Rs.5400/-.

Essential Qualifications for NGRI Recruitment: First class M.Sc. / M.Sc. (Tech) (or) M.Tech. in Geophysics / Applied Geophysics / Marine Geophysics from a recognized University.
Desirable:
Ph.D. and / or Research experience. A Proven track record of carrying out research as demonstrated by publication of research papers in high impact factor SCI journals in areas such as Ground Water Exploration / Hydrocarbon / Mineral, Seismics, Seismology, Tsunami and Earthquake Hazards, Heat flow, Theoretical Geophysics, Geophysical Logging, Time Series Analysis, etc.
Job Requirements:
Participation in geophysical data acquisition, processing and interpretation (both in field and in the Laboratory) and involvement in major research programs of the Institute.
II. National Geophysical Research Institute Recruitment of Scientist Gr. IV (1) (02 Posts) (UR):
Pay Band: 3 / Rs. 15600 - 39100 with Grade pay of Rs. 5400/-.

Discipline: Geochronology and Radiogenic Isotope Geochemistry.
Essential Qualifications for NGRI Recruitment: First Class M.Sc. / M.Sc. (Tech) (or) M.Tech. in Geology / Applied Geology.
Desirable:
Ph.D. from a recognized university with a thesis topic that is relevant to Radiogenic Isotope Geochemistry and Geochronology.
A Proven track record of carrying out research as demonstrated by publication of research papers in high impact factor SCI journals.
Substantial "hands - on" experience in a modern Mass Spectrometry - Clean Chemistry Lab.
Job Requirements: To participate in Geological and Isotopic data acquisition using LA - MC - ICPMS. Processing and interpretation, and to participate in major research programs of the Institute.

To participate in Geological mapping and undertake research in the area of Petrology, Structural Geology and Economic Geology.

Job Requirements: To participate in Geochemical research involving sample collection and analysis using ICPMS / Gas Chromatograph, data interpretation and involvement in major research programs.

Ph.D and / or research experience in the area of Stable Isotope Geochemistry related to Paleo Climate & Paleo - Environment.

Job Requirements:
To participate in Geological, Geochemical mapping, sample collection, analysis using stable isotopic ratio mass spectrometers and data interpretation and involvement in major programs.
