2. Ministry of Defence Fireman Job Description :

A. Fireman Pay Scale : Rs.5200-20200 + 1900 (GP) plus usual allowances as admissible to Central Government employees from time to time.

B. Jobs for Fireman Age Limit : Between 18 and 25 years.(Relaxable upto 35 yrs. for Departmental candidates or in accordance with the instructions issued by the Government of India from time to time).

Relaxation for Age Limit :

1. Upto 3 years in addition to the periof of service rendered in the Defence Services for Ex-Servicemen on production of Discharge Certificate for Ex-Servicemen issued by the Competent Authority.
2. Upto 40 years for Departmental Candidates with 3 years continous service (additional 5 years for SC & ST).
3. For SC / ST candidates 05 years.

C. Closing Date for Receipt of Ministry of Defence Application Form 2010 is 21th day (till 1700 hrs) from the date of publication of Advertisement in the Employment News (dated on 19.06.2010), excluding the date of publication. If the last date falls on Sunday or any holiday, the next working day shall be the closing date for receipt of application.

Essential Requirement for Fireman Jobs in MOD:

1. Matriculation from recognised Board.
2. Must have completed basic course on Elementary Fire Fighting from a recognised Institute. The duration of the Basic Fire Fighting Course should not be less than siz months.The institutes offering Basic Courses on Fire Fighting should be recognised by State Government / Government of India.
3. Must be physically fit and capable of performing strenuous duties. This requirement will be tested as under :

* Physically Standards for Fireman Vacancies :

1. Height without shoes - 165 cms.
2. Chest (unexpected) - 81.5 cms, Chest (expanded) - 85 cms.
3. Weight 50 kgs Minimum.

* Endurance Test :

Endurance Test will be done only for those candidates who qualify in the measurement of physical standards.

1. Carry a man (Fireman lift of 63.5 kgs to a distance of 183 mtrs within 96 seconds.
2. Clearing 2.7 mtrs ditch landing on both feet (long jumps).
3. Climbing 3 mtrs vertical rope using hands and feet.

Note : Concession of 2.5 cms in height or chest may be allowed for the members or Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes candidates from hilly areas.

4. Fireman Examination Fee in Ministry of Defence Recruitment 2010 : Since the Fireman vacancies are reserved for SC & ST. No fee is required to be paid by them as per extant instructions.
