RRSC (West) / NRSC of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Central Water Commission (CWC) of MoWR have jointly initiated a project entitled "Generation of Database and Implementation of Web Enabled Water Resources Information System (India-WRIS) in the Country".
Vision of India - WRIS project is to provide a "Single Window Solution" for all water resources data and information in a standardized national GIS framework to water resources departments / organizations for assessment, monitoring, planning, development and Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM).
RRSC (West), Jodhpur & NRSC, Hyderabad are the lead centers to implement the project and has the state of art computing facilities and latest software in the field of remote sensing, GIS and GPS.
ISRO RRSC invites applications from eligible candidates for the purely temporary Project "Research Scientists" positions for the project duration of three years having aptitude to work in the most challenging and exciting field of space technology applications in water resources sector.
Eligibility for Research Scientists : B.E. / B.Tech. / M.Sc. / MCA / M.Tech / MS / Ph.D. in First Class or its equivalent with an aggregate minimum of 65% from reputed Universities.
RRSC ISRO Selection Procedure : Essential Qualification is the minimum requirement. Screening will be based on essential & desirable qualification and experience. Qualified candidates will be selected on the basis of interviews.
ISRO Pay Scale : Rs.8,000-275-13,500/- (Pre-revised) (Total emoluments at minimum of pay is Rs. 20,840/- approx.) for B.E. / B.Tech. / M.Sc. / M.C.A. / ME / M.Tech and Rs.10,000-325-15,200/- (Pre-revised) (Total emoluments at minimum of pay is Rs. 25,850/- approx.) for M.E. / M.Tech. with 2 years relevant experience OR Fresh Ph.Ds.

General Conditions for Regional Remote Sensing Centre Recruitment 2010 :
Degree(s) mentioned in this advertisement means first class only from B.Sc onwards. The candidates should possess First Class with not less than 65% of marks (average of all semesters) or CGPA / CPI grading of 6.5 on 10 scale or equivalent.
Only short listed candidates will be called for RRSC ISRO interview.
Maximum age limit for the above positions is 35 years as on 20.04.2010. However, age relaxations are available for SC / ST / OBC / PWD / Ex-servicemen as per the orders of Govt. of India on the subject.
These Research Scientist positions are purely on temporary basis for a period of three years only for the Project. It may be noted that the Research Scientist positions do not carry any claim whatsoever for regular appointments in ISRO / DOS.
Selected candidates will be posted at RRSC, Jodhpur and are liable to be transferred to any Centres / Units of ISRO / DOS situated any where in India as and when required.
Candidates working in Government / Public Sector Undertakings / Autonomous Organisations should apply through proper channel.
Mere fulfillment of the requirements of the post will not entail a candidate to be called for RRSC ISRO Interview.
