Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC) is the lead Centre in the area of Liquid Propulsion for ISRO's Launch Vehicle and Spacecraft programmes.

Research and development of Earth Storable and Cryogenic and Semi Cryogenic propulsion and delivery of Engines, Stages, Associated Control Systems and Components for Launch Vehicle and Spacecraft programmes of ISRO are the main responsibilities of the Centre with its Units at Valiamala near Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala), Bangalore in Karnataka and Mahendragiri in Tamilnadu.

The Headquarters located at Valiamala has the responsibilities of R&D in Earth Storable, Cryogenic and Semi Cryogenic Propulsion Systems for Launch Vehicle and Spacecraft Propulsion. System design and architecture, Management of system projects/ Earth Storable & Cryogenic Engine and Stage Systems and Integration of Launch Vehicle Propulsion Control System packages and Modules are carried out at LPSC, Valiamala. Activities like assembly, integration and testing of Earth Storable, Semi Cryogenic and Cryogenic Liquid Rocket Engines and stages are carried out at LPSC, Mahendragiri. LPSC at Bangalore is responsible for design and realization of Mono propellant thrusters and Components, Launch base support and orbit operation for Spacecrafts etc.

In addition, LPSC has Work Centres at various places to liaise/co-ordinate with the companies/industries participating in the space programme. The following posts are available in the Work Centres.

Applications are invited to the posts for posting at different locations. The details of posts available in each Work Centres are mentioned below. Selected candidates will be posted to any of the Work Centres after a brief period of training at LPSC, Valiamala, Thiruvananthapuram.

General Conditions for LPSC Recruitment 2009:

  1. The posts are temporary but likely to continue indefinitely.
  2. Age limit as oh 31.10.09 is 35 years, but relaxable by 5 years in the case of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe and 3 years in the case of OBC candidates. Ex-servicemen and Persons With Disabilities (PWDs.) are eligible for upper age relaxation as per Rules.

  6. Career advancement for Technical Assistant and Technicians 'A' in ISRO is based on Merit Promotion Scheme where the employees are reviewed and promoted to next grade on merit after a prescribed residency period without reference to vacancies.
  7. Attractive benefits such as good Medical Facilities for self and dependents, Subsidized Canteen, House Building Advance, LTC, New Pension Scheme and other social security measures are also provided to ISRO employees.
  8. Candidates applying for the posts reserved for SC/ST/OBC must submit attested copies of certificates issued by the Competent Authority in the prescribed format applicable for reservation in jobs under Government of India.
  9. In respect OBC candidates, reservation will be avaliable only to candidates, who do not fall in the Creamy Layer and should be updated/valid at the revelant point of time, i.e. at the time of submission of application for the above posts. In addition to submission of OBC certificate indicating the 'Creamy Layer status' issued by the competent authority, the candidates seeking reservation as OBC shiuld furnish a declarartion in the following format:

  10. Candidates working in Central/State Govt./Public Sector Undertaking/Autonomous Organisation should apply through proper channel. In case they anticipate any delay in forwading their application, they may submit advance copies before the due date. They will be interviewed on production of No Objection Certificate from the respective offices.
  11. Applications without the requisite information, not accompanied by attested true copies of certificares, mark list, without signature, without photograph, not furnished in the prescribed format and those received after the due date will not be considered.
  12. Candidates will have to produce original documents in proof of the details furnished in their application at the time of Test/Interview for verification. Those who fail to produce the said documents will not be allowed to attend the Test/Interview.

  13. Selected candidates may have to join the post immediately on being found FI by a medical authority.
  14. Outstation SC/ST candidates caled for interview will be paid to and fro Second Class Railway Fare by the shortest route on production of Railway ticket or bus fare on production of bus ticket in case they are not availing the free concession offered by Indian Railways for the purpose.
  15. Applications received against this advertisement will be short-listed and those short listed candidates alone be called for futher selection process.
  16. No interim correspondence will be entertained.

  18. The Centre reserves the right not to fill-up any of the posts, if it so decides.
  19. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
