Indian Ordnance Factories invites applications for the following posts in the pay band of Rs.5200-20200 + GP 1800 plus allowances as admissible to Central Govt. employees.

• UR - Unreserved
• SC - Scheduled Caste
• ST - Scheduled Tribe
• OBC - Other Backward Classes
• HH - Hearing Handicapped
• OH - Orthopaedically Handicapped

The above vacancies are likely to vary depending upon the situation prevailing at the relevant time.

A. Educational Qualifications for Indian Ordnance Factories Recruitment 2010:

1. National Council for Vocational Training Certificate in relevant Trade failing which by ITI or equivalent Diploma / Certificate holder.
2. For considering the DBW trade / post NCTVT certificate in "Attendant Operator in Chemical Plant (AOCP)" failing which by ITI or equivalent Diploma / Certificate holder.

B. Age Limit for Indian Ordnance Factories 2010 Recruitment : Above 18 years but not exceeding 32 years as on last date of receipt of application.

Relaxation :

1. Upto the period of trade apprenticeship.
2. Upto 5 years for SC / ST candidates.
3. Upto 3 years for OBC candidates on production of Caste certificate with "Non-Creamy Layer clause issued by the Competent Authority.
4. Upto 3 years in addition to the period of service rendered in the defence services for Ex-Servicemen on production of Discharge Certificate for Ex-Servicemen issued by Competent Authority.
5. Upto 10 years for PH Persons on production of Medical Certificate indicating the percentage of disability from an authorized Doctor.

C. Closing Date for receipt of Indian Ordnance Factories application is three weeks (dated 15.05.2010) from the date of publication of this advertisement.

D. Definition of Disabilites :

Blindness : "Blindness" refers to a condition where a person suffers from any of the following conditions, namely :

1. Total absence of sight Or
2. visual acuity not exceeding 6/60 or 20/200(snellen) in the better eye with correcting lenses Or
3. limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of 20 degree or worse.

Low vision : "Person with low vision" means a person with impairment of visual functioning even after treatment or standard refractive correction but who uses or is potentially capable of using vision for the planning or execution of a task with appropriate assistive device.

Hearing Impairment : "Hearing Impairment" means loss of sixty decibels or more in the better ear in the conversational range of frequencies.

Locomotor disability : "Locomotor disability" means disability of the bones, joints or muscles leading to substantial restriction of the movement of the limbs or any form of cerebral palsy.

Cerebral Palsy : "Cerebral Patsy" means a group of non-progressive conditions of a person characterized by abnormal motor control posture resulting from brain insult or injuries occurring in the prenatal, peri-natal or infant period of development.

All the cases of Orthopaedically handicapped persons would be covered under the category of "locomotor disability or cerebral palsy".

Reservation is applicable only for who suffer from not less than 40% of relevant category. A person who to avail of benefit of reservation would have to submit a disability certificate issued by a competent authority. Individual belonging to SC / ST / OBC category can also apply against UR (PHP) vacancies provided they fulfill other selection criteria.
