Indian Oil Corporation Applications are invited from Indian Nationals for the following posts:

B.Sc. (PCM) with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in PCM or Diploma in Chemical Engineering with 60% marks.

  1. Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a Govt. recognised Institute or
  2. BSc. (Physics, Chemistry, Maths) from a recognised University. or
  3. Matric + ITI (passed in any Trade - Minimum 1 year course) from a Govt. recognised Institute. +
    2nd class Boiler Competency Certificate is mandatory for all candidates possessing any of the qualification at Sr. No. (i) to (iii) mentioned above.

Junior Engineering Assistant - IV (P&U) - Trainee

Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 60% marks.

Minimum qualifying marks for SC / ST candidates relaxed to pass class.

* In case suitable candidates not available for the post same will be operated as "Trainees".

Age Limit for IOCL Job Vacancies: (As on 31.12.2009)

Minimum 18 years and Maximum 32 years. Relaxation by 5 years for SC / ST, 3 years for OBC candidates and for Ex-Servicemen as per rules.

Indian Oil Corporation Recruitment 2010 General Instructions:

1. The prescribed qualification should be as a regular student of a full time course from a recognised Indian University / Institute.

2. Wherever Grades are awarded in the Diploma / Degree examination, its equivalent percentage of marks must be indicated in the Indian Oil Corporation application form as per the norms adopted by the University / Institute.

3. Candidates shall be engaged as Trainees for a period of minimum 1 year, which may be extended or reduced, for post codes R-01 & R-03.

4. Trainees shall be entitled to a monthly consolidated stipend @ Rs. 11,000/-. Other facilities shall be provided as per rules in this regard.

5. Depending upon the IOCL requirement the trainees will be absorbed in regular service of the Indian Oil Corporation upon successful completion of training period or earlier in relevant posts in Salary grade - IV in the scale of pay Rs. 5400 - 10850/- (under Revision).

6. Candidates shall be offered appointment in the regular scale of pay against post code R-02 in the IOCL pay scale of Rs.5400 - 10850/- under revision (Other benefits like Medical / LTC / Superannuation Benefit Fund etc. as per rules).

7. Ex-Servicemen applying for the above Indian Oil Corporation vacancies must submit a certificate indicating the equivalence of their qualification to that advertised, failing which the application will be rejected, without further reference in this regard.

If candidates (EXSM) with requisite percentage are not available, percentage will be relaxed to pass class at the discretion of the management.

8. The selection methodology - Written test / Personal Interview of short listed candidates. Candidates will have to qualify each stage of selection process for IOCL Recruitment Exam successfully for being adjudged suitable for subsequent selection event / IOCL Exam final selection.

9. Female candidates not to apply for the above Vacancies in Indian Oil Corporation.

10. Candidates can apply against any one post only. Candidates applying for more than one discipline will not be considered and such IOC applications will be rejected.

11. Candidates having requisite qualification and fulfilling eligibility criteria should send neatly typed applications duly signed in the prescribed proforma on plain paper (A-4 size) with latest passport size photo along with photocopies of certificate pertaining to age & caste, mark sheets / certificates (of all the years / semesters Graduation / Diploma) duly attested by gazetted officer. Name of the post should be superscribed on the envelope.

13. Last date of receipt of IOC applications: 3.00 p.m. on 05.01.2010.

14. A crossed DD of Rs. 100/- (One hundred only) as application fee (non - refundable) in favour of Accounts Officer, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., Barauni Refinery payable at Begusarai.

The crossed DD may be issued by any Branch other than SBI, BR Campus Branch. No other mode of payment shall be accepted. SC / ST / Ex-servicemen candidates are exempted from payment of application fee.

15. "Outstation" SC / ST candidates called for test / interview will be reimbursed 2nd Class Railway / Bus fare from the place of residence to the place of interview / test and back by the shortest route subject to providing documentary evidence of rail ticket number(s) / bus ticket.

16. Reservation of posts for SC / ST / OBC (non creamy layer) / EXSM candidates and relaxations thereof as per Govt. directives.

17. Employees of Government / Semi - Government / Autonomous Bodies must apply through proper channel.

18. Incomplete IOCL applications not supported by relevant documents or those received after due date shall be rejected.

19. Canvassing of any kind shall disqualify the candidate.

20. For claiming the benefit of OBC category, the candidate should submit a latest caste certificate as per proforma prescribed by Govt. of India and issued by the competent authority, which would, among others, specifically mention that the candidate does not belong to the persons / sections (creamy layer) as mentioned in column 3 of the Schedule to the Department of Personnel and Training, Govt. of India OM No. 36012/22/93-Estt (SCT) dated 08.09.93.

Being a Public Sector Undertaking, only those communities that are mentioned in the common list of OBC prepared by Central Govt. shall be treated as OBC for the purpose of reservation.

21. Barauni Refinery Management reserves the right to increase standard of qualification and / or experience in order to restrict the number of candidates to a reasonable level.

22. The IOCL vacancies are likely to increase keeping with the requirements.
