Masters in Geophysics or Applied Geophysics from a recognized Indian University / Institute with minimum first class or 60% marks in qualifying examination.
Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and should be a fluent communicator in English with good presentation skills. |

Seismic data acquisition, planning and quality check in the field.
Interpretation using standard G&G Software for delineation of leads & prospects.
Exposure to Seismic data processing.
Management of Seismic Database.

Candidates would be offered suitable grade commensurating with their qualification and experience.
Functional Requirements:
The position requires working with Advisors, Senior Management, a Team of Geologists & Engineers while providing adequate guidance and training to a team of junior Geophysicists, based at New Delhi office.
Reporting to Head-Technical, you would be expected to evaluate prospectivity of basins and monitor progress of current assets under committed work programs and participate in due diligence process during data room visits for acquisition of new assets through farm-in and bidding opportunities, oversee activities related to field in terms of seismic gamut and data processing / re-processing, update regional maps.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
You would mainly be responsible for interpreting the seismic data pertaining to existing and new assets using Workstation facilities, besides others as under:
Manage overall seismic activities of entire E&P portfolio in respect of Geophysical issues.
Interpret and calibrate geophysical data to identify key issues involved in evaluation of assets.
Co-ordinate the integration of work studies on attribute analysis for input to the Reservoir Characterization Modeling.
Select and Quality check the parameters for Seismic Data Acquisition and Processing.
Provide technical expertise to recommend and prepare Contract Tenders on seismic data API, prospect evaluation and drilling of wells and also manage Contracts once in place.
Direct, mentor and develop junior Geophysicists in their respective domains and software issues.
HPCL 2010 Selection Methodology:
Candidates fulfilling all of the above criteria (based on scrutiny of the application and resume), will be called for HPCL personal interview. Candidates shortlisted in personal interview will be required to undergo medical examination.
Reference for a medical examination does not mean final selection, which may please be noted. The final selection / Offer of Employment will be based on the candidates performance in Personal Interview, Work Experience, being declared as Medically Fit by HPCL designated Physician and subject to fulfillment of other eligibility criteria with respect to Academic Qualification, Age, NOC, Relieving letter etc. as may be applicable.
Emoluments and Placements:
Selected candidates will be placed in pay scale of Rs. 36,600 - 62,000 or 43,200 - 66,000. Besides basic pay and industrial pattern of DA, other allowances include HRA, Medical facilities, Gratuity, Contributory Provident Fund, Employees Pension Scheme, LFA, Contributory Superannuation Benefit, Performance related pay etc. and other perquisites shall be applicable as per the grade and Corporations rules. The HPCL CTC would be appx. 12 lakhs (for Manager) or 14 lakhs (for Sr. Manager) per annum.
HPCL Posting can be at any place in the country / otherwise and the services thereafter will be transferable as required by the Corporation.
