ERNET India 2009 Recruitment of Senior Manager

ERNET India, an autonomous scientific society under Department of Information Technology, M/o Communications & Information Technology, has been set up with the main objectives of developing, setting up and operating a nationwide state-of-art Computer Communication infrastructure, to undertake and promote education, research & development, training and standardization in the area of computer networking and information technology and to develop options for consideration of the Government for development of information infrastructure and computer networking in the country.

ERNET India is looking for suitable personnel for technical and non-technical posts.

The Technical personnel should have expertise and working knowledge/research experience in any one or more of the following domains:

1. Computer Network Design and Architectures, Network Measurement & QoS, Protocol Engineering and Network Security.
2. Optical Networking, High-Speed Networks and Next Generation Networks.
3. Planning of Network Resources, System Administration, Customer Support, Technology Evaluation and Preparation of Technical proposals.

The mode of Recruitment, no.of posts and the eligibility criteria for each post to be filled are as under:

Technical Posts

Name of the Post: Senior Manager

No.of post: 01 (Un-reserved)

Pay scale: Rs. 14300-18300/- (pre-revised) [since revised to Rs. 37400-67000/- with grade pay of Rs. 8700/- as per Sixth Pay Commission]

Mode of recruitment: By Direct Recruitment/Transfer (absorption) failing which by deputation.

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification & Age for direct recruitment:

B.E./B.Tech/M.Sc. or equivalent in the related field (*) with minimum 60% marks from a recognized University/Institution.

Experience: 12 years in the relevant field (*). or

M.E./M.Tech in related field (*) with minimum 60% marks from a recognized University/Institution.

Experience: 10 years in the relevant field (*). or

Ph.D. in the related field (*) from a recognized University/Institution.

Experience: 8 years in the relevant field (*).

(*) Computer Communication & networking, Data Communication, Internet & Web Technology, VSAT Communication.

Age: 45 years (Relaxation as per GoI Rules)

For Transfer (absorption) / Deputation:

Officers of the Central/State Governments/PSUs/Autonomous bodies:

1. Holding analogous post on regular basis or
2. Having 5 years regular service in the scale of pay of Rs. 12000-16500/- and
3. Possessing the qualifications prescribed for direct recruitment.
