Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL), is a leading profit making Public Sector Organization, a Group Company of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., in the field of Hydro-carbon processing with a refining capacity of 10.5 MMTPA, having Refineries located in Chennai and Nagapattinam, in Tamil Nadu.

The Company had achieved a record turnover of Rs.32,889 Crore for the year 2007-08.

CPCL invites applications from bright, young and energetic persons of Indian Nationality for the following position.

The number of posts indicated are tentative which may increase or decrease in the relevant categories at the absolute discretion of the Management.

For the above post, the Scale of Pay is Rs.12000 - 17500 (due for revision w.e.f. 1.1.2007) in entry Grade "A" in Supervisory cadre.

In addition to the Basic Pay, Industrial pattern of DA, HRA / Self-lease, Contributory provident fund. Gratuity, LFA (lumpsum) / LTC, Reimbursement of Medical expenses and other benefits including Superannuation benefits would be provided according to the rules of the Company.

The Cost to Company works out to about Rs.5.5 lakhs per annum with respect to pre-revised pay scales.

Eligibility Criteria:

General:

1. Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria and desiring to offer their services should send their typed application on a plain paper (A-4 Size) duly signed with date, indicating The application format is available at our Website: http://www.cpcl.co.in

2. The selection will be based on Personal Interview. Candidates can take interview in English or Hindi only, provided they exercise their option at the time of application.

The candidates will have to pass through each stage including Medical fitness successfully for being adjudged suitable for selection.

3. The candidates should attach photocopies of original certificates, attested by a Gazetted Officer, in support of age, educational qualification, experience and caste (for SC / ST category) along with their applications, failing which their application will be rejected.

4. Wherever CGPA / OGPA or Letter Grade in a degree is awarded. Its equivalent percentage of marks must be indicated in the application form as per norms adopted by institute / University.

5. In case large number of applications are received, Management reserves the right to call candidates having better experience profile / higher percentage of marks only.

6. Candidates serving in Government Departments / PSUs should apply through "Proper Channel" or bring No Objection Certificate at the time of interview. Advance copies of applications will not be entertained.

7. Incomplete / unsigned applications or applications received after the due date will be rejected.

8. Candidature of the candidate is liable to be rejected at any stage of the recruitment process or after recruitment or joining if any information provided by the candidate is false or is not found in conformity with eligibility criteria mentioned in the advertisement

9. The candidates should furnish original certificates in support of age, educational qualification and experience at the time of appearing for interview along with photocopies duly attested by a Gazetted Officer.

Only after scrutiny of the testimonials / certificates and subject to the candidates being found eligible as per advertised criteria, they will be allowed for the interview.

10. Selection and Appointment of candidates is subject to verification of Caste / Character & Antecedents from authorities concerned

11. The period of experience will be determined upto 30-04-2009.

12. Outstation SC/ST candidates called for Written test / Personal Interview will be reimbursed single Second Class Railway / Bus fare from the nearest railway station of the mailing address to the place of test / interview and back by the shortest route on production of ticket, provided the distance is not less than 30 kms.

Reimbursement will be made subject to submission of TA claim along with original rail ticket / receipt or photocopy thereof or original bus tickets(s) and copy of Community Certificate. Reimbursement of travel claim will not be allowed, if community certificate is not produced and if the ST candidate is found ineligible as per Press Advertisement criterion.

13. Canvassing in any form is liable to render the candidate ineligible for any of the above posts.
