BRO Recruitment 2010 Important Instructions

(a) Only Male candidates need to apply. Females need not apply.

(b) A candidate must be either a citizen of India, Or a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

(c) BRO GREF Recruitment Zones : Rishikesh Zone, Tezpur Zone, GREF Centre.

Candidates having domicile in the states of Uttrakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi & Jammu & Kashmir will mention their Trade Test centre only as Rishikesh zone and forward their respective application to the following GREF address.

Candidates having domicile in the states of West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Sikkim, Assam and all other states of North- East region i.e. Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland , Arunachal Pradesh & Tripura will mention their Trade Test centre as Tezpur zone and forward their respective application to the following GREF address.

(d) Before applying for any post, the candidates should ensure that he fulfills all the eligibility norms. The candidate should have the requisite educational / technical qualifications from recognized university / institute as on the closing date of submission of the GREF Application.

Those awaiting results of the final examination need not apply. Respective Chief Engineer / Commandant of respective zones may reject the candidature of thecandidates at any stage of recruitment process in case the candidate is not fulfilling the requisite criteria and if appointed, such candidates are liable to be terminated/ removed from service summarily.

(e) Candidate should fill up the application in his own handwriting and must sign at the prescribed places. GREF Application should be on good quality A4 size bond (80 GSM) paper using one side only. News Paper cutting should not be used as application. The candidates purchasing printed applications from the market should ensure that it conforms to the prescribed format published in the Employment News.

The candidates can also make photocopy of the application format as given in the Employment News/Rozgar Samachar and then fill up the details. They can also download the GREF Application Format from the BRO website of www.bro.nic.in.

The candidates should send their application well in advance before the closing date. Chief Engineer / Commandant of respective recruitment zones will not be responsible for any postal delay/wrong delivery of the application etc.

(f) Candidates should note that only the date of birth as recorded in the 10th Class / High School examination certificates as on the date of submission of applications will only be accepted. Mark sheets in place of certificates will not be accepted as proof of date of birth.

(g) Serving defence personnel likely to be released from service within one year from the closing date can also apply against Ex-servicemen vacancies.

(h) Vacancies of Ex-servicemen and persons with disability in the table given below are not separate but included in the total number of vacancies.

(j) GREF Recruitment Call letter 2010 for trade test are sent to candidates by post and the same can also be seen on www.bro.nic.in Chief Engineer / Commandant of respective recruting zones will not be responsible for any postal delay / wrong delivery of call letters. Results of provisionally selected candidates will be displayed in the website of www.bro.nic.in Chief Engineer / Commandant of respective GREF recruitment zones do not intimate candidates who are not selected in GREF written examination or any other test.

(k) Selected candidates will have to undergo training at GREF Centre, Pune for 59 days.

(l) The candidates who indicate their community as SC or ST or OBC in their application form but do not enclose the caste certificate in the prescribed format will not be considered as eligible to appear for the Trade Test.

(m) Candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC who fulfill required educational qualification/technical qualification under UR Category can also appear against UR vacancies. They will, however, have to compete with the UR candidates. However, no relaxation in age and application fees would be permissible to them.

(n) Any subsequent changes in the terms and conditions of this employment notice as per extent rules will stand good. Commandant GREF Centre reserves the right to consider / incorporate any subsequent changes/modifications / additions in the terms and conditions of recruitment under this employment notice necessitated and applicable.

(o) GREF Vacancies 2010 are liable to increase or decrease without any further notice.

(p) All candidates will undergo Physical Efficiency test but marks of physical test during selection will vary depending on post applied for. Passing of physical test is mandatory for all trades.

The departmental candidates, ex-servicemen and physically handicapped candidates appearing for trade test are exempted from undergoing physical test. However, no weightage of marks of this physical test will be given during selection.

(q) GREF Written test, wherever applicable, will be objective in nature and will be bilingual (Hindi / English).
