Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) is one of the leading "Navratna" Public Sector Undertakings of Government of India. As a premier Engineering Organization, BHEL provides world class products and services to the core sectors like Power, Industry, Transportation, Transmission, Defense, Electronics etc.

BHEL has a wide network of 14 manufacturing divisions, 4 Power Sector regions, 8 Service centers and 15 regional offices. BHEL, HEP, Bhopal has requirement for the post of Artisans in different trades as follows

For Electrician, Fitter, Machinist & Welder: Matric/High School/10th/SSLC plus ITI/ National Trade Certificate (NTC) plus National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in respective Master Trade.

Candidates belonging to General & OBC categories should have secured not less than 60% marks in both ITI/NTC & NAC and SC & ST candidates should have secured not less than 55% marks in both ITI/NTC & NAC.

Reservations:

  1. Following vacancies of Artisans are reserved for different categories after adjustment on the roster:

    This includes 10 SC, 10 ST and 15 OBC backlog vacancies.

  3. Reservation for Physically Challenged will be as per the rules. Out of the total number of vacancies, 5 are reserved for Visually Handicapped and 11 are reserved for hearing impaired.
  4. The above numbers of vacancies are tentative and may vary on review. In that eventuality, the number of vacancies reserved for various categories may also undergo revision.

Preference for Best Apprentice / Runner-up Apprentice of All India Apprentices Competition:

The candidates who were selected as Best Apprentice or Runner-Up Apprentice in the All India Apprentices Competition conducted by Directorate General of Employment & Training Ministry of Labour & Employment in the Trade Apprenticeship need not appear for written test.

They will be directly called for Interview subject to fulfilling of other terms and conditions & eligibility criteria.

Best Apprentice will be inducted as Artisan Grd IV with 2 increments and Runner-up Apprentice will be inducted as Artisan Grd IV in the pay scale of Rs. 4800-130-5190- EB-5255-150-7805/- (Under Revision).

Age limit:

  1. The cutoff date for calculating the upper age limit & experience if applicable will be 01/09/2009.
  2. The candidates in all the categories should not be less than 18 years of age.
  3. The upper age limit will be 27 years for all candidates as on the cutoff date.

Relaxations:

  1. Relaxation of 5 years for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) and 3 years for Other Backward Classes (non creamy layer) is permissible.
  2. An additional relaxation of 10 years in upper age limit for Physically challenged Candidates is admissible i.e., relaxation in Upper age limit will be 10 years for General, 13 years for Other Backward Class and 15 years for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates.
  3. Ex. Servicemen will be given age relaxation as per the extant Government rules.
  4. A relaxation of 5 years in upper age limit is also admissible to candidates who were ordinarily domiciled in the state of Jammu and Kashmir during the period from 01/01/1980 to 31/12/1989.
  5. Relaxation in upper age limit is permissible corresponding to the years of experience subject to a maximum of 7 years to the candidates having relevant experience of working directly or through contractor in a public sector or private sector organisation engaged in manufacturing of heavy electrical engineering equipment like Hydro/Steam Turbine, Electrical Motors, Traction Motors, Transformer/Capacitor Bushings, Switchgear/Rectifiers, Heat Condensors.
  6. This age relaxation is available to candidates having aforesaid experience of at least 50 months of continuous or intermittent service for availing 7 years of relaxation and on pro-rata basis for less than 7 years of relaxation. (As per the proforma available on the website)
