Recruitment of Meritorious Sports Persons in Income Tax Department The Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Delhi-I, New Delhi, invites applications for the Recruitment of meritorious Sports persons in different games;sports as listed below for the posts of Inspector in the pay scale-of Rs.9300-34800 (Grade Pay Rs.4600/-) and Tax Assistants in the pay scale of- Rs.5200-20200(Grade Pay Rs.2400/-).
The posts are purely temporary but likely to be permanent. The probation period is of 2 years.
Eligibility Conditions for Income Tax Department Recruitment:
01. Age Limit:
Inspector: 18-27 years (as on closing date of receipt of application).
Tax Assistant: 20-27 years (as on closing date of receipt of application) Relaxation: (relaxable upto 5 years for General / OBC candidates and 10 years in case of SC / ST candidates). The age limit is also relaxable for Departmental candidates upto 35 years (relaxable upto 40 years in case of SC/ST departmental candidates).
02. Educational Qualification:
For Inspector: Degree from the recognized University.
- For Tax Assistants
Degree of a recognized University or equivalent, and
Having Data Entry Speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour.

04. Sports Eligibility: Appointment can be made of a sportsman considered meritorious with reference to the following criteria. Sportsman / Sportswoman who have represented:
A State or the Country in a National or International Competition in any of the games / sports mentioned in the list as per No. 6 below.
Their University in the Inter-University Tournaments conducted by the Inter-University Sports Board in any of the games / sports mentioned in the list as per No.6 below.
The State Schools Team in the National Sports / Games for schools conducted by the All India School Games Federation in any of the games / sports mentioned in the list as per No.6 below.
Sports persons who have been awarded National Awards in Physical Efficiency under the National Physical Efficiency Drive.
05. Selection of the Candidates: The applications will be scrutinized and suitable candidates will be short listed for further selection procedure. For selection, the short listed candidates are required to appear for following tests:
- Ground / Proficiency Test.
- Written Test, &
- Interview
Success in the above test confers no right to appointment unless Department is satisfied after such enquiry as may be considered necessary that the candidate is suitable in all respect for appointment to the post.

Note: In case suitable candidates are not available in any of the above Games / Sports, the Department has a right not to consider those games / sports.
07. How to Apply: Applications must be submitted in following format addressed to the Additional Commissioner of Income-tax (Hqrs.-Personnel), Room No. 378, C.R. Building, New Delhi, by post / by hand within one month of publication of this advertisement. On envelope please mention clearly.
"Application for the Post of______Under Sports Quota. Name of the Sport ___________".
08. The candidate on appointment will be liable for posting at any place in Delhi Region.
09. Selected candidates will be required to give an undertaking not to apply for inter charge transfer for a minimum period of 10 years.
10. The declaration to this effect to work at any place under CCIT (CCA), Delhi, should be submitted along with the application.
11. Attested copies of documents in support of claim regarding date of birth, educational qualification, sports eligibility certificates, Caste Certificate, etc. should invariably accompany the application. Further, latest coloured photograph duly attested by a Gazetted Officer should also be duly pasted on the application form.
12. Application duly signed and completed in all respects should be sent so as to reach the office of the undersigned within one month of publication of this advertisement by post / by hand.
13. Separate application for each post should be sent.
14. Applications received after the due date will not be entertained under any circumstances. Incomplete and unsigned applications will be rejected and no correspondence in the matter will be made with the applicant. Eligible candidates will be called for above said tests and interview. The date and venue for tests and interview will be intimated to the eligible candidates in due course.
