Union Bank Recruitment Project 2007 - Region of Posting
Region of Posting :
The Bank shall, as far as possible, endeavour to post the selected candidate in the "Region" of his / her choice on the basis of the preference indicated by the candidate in Para 17 of the Application Form. The 4 "Regions" with their area coverage is spelt out herein below. Should it not be possible to post him / her in the Region of his choice on account of exigencies of the Bank, he / she will be posted at any of the other Regions at the sole discretion of the Bank and the decision of the Bank shall be final.

Compensation & Perquisites Package:
(1) Total Annual Compensation Package of Rs.4.00 lacs, to be paid on a monthly pro-rata basis after deduction of statutory and other dues, comprising of Fixed Component of 60% and a Variable Monthly Performance based Component of 40%. No other allowances &/or perquisites except those stated in (2) below, or advances, or leave encashment, or service, or welfare or retiral benefits like Provident Fund, Gratuity or Pension shall be payable.
(2) Reimbursement of (a) Telephone / Mobile Cell phone (Air time / Call charges) to the extent of Rs.2000.00 per month), (b) Fuel Expenses equivalent to 50 litres of Fuel per month.
(3) Paid Leave @ 1 day for each completed month. Any other absence shall be treated as on Loss of Pay, affecting the Fixed Component of the compensation package.
4. Selection Procedure for Union Bank Vice President Exam:
(1) The Selection to Post Code - 01 (Vice President - Loan Syndication); Post Code - 02 (Asst. General Manager - Cash Management Services); Post Code - 03 (Asst. General Manager - Information Security); and, Post Code - 05 (Customer Relationship Executive), will be made on the basis of the candidate's performance in the Group Discussion and a Personal Interview.
(2) The Selection to Post Code - 04 (Company Secretary) will be made on the basis of the candidate's performance in a Personal Interview.
(3) Where both a Group Discussion & Personal Interview is prescribed, candidates will be finally shortlisted for selection on the basis of their performance in the Group Discussion and the Personal Interview. Where only Personal Interview is prescribed, the candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the Personal Interview. Where the vacancies have been reserved for SC / ST / OBC / Unreserved (General) Candidates, a Merit List will be drawn up for each of these categories on the basis of the performance of the candidates in their respective category.
(4) Appointment of the short-listed / selected candidate is subject to his / her being declared medically fit as per the requirement of the Bank. The appointment and confirmation in the services of the Bank will also be subject to receiving satisfactory references from respectable referees, police verification of antecedents, caste / class verification and compliance of the Service Regulations & Conduct Regulations of the Bank.
(A). Group Discussion & Personal Interview:
A Group Discussion and / or Personal Interview shall be conducted to assess the candidates’ academic record, power of expression, clarity of thought, qualities of leadership, extra curricular activities, hobbies, general demeanour, behaviour, communication skills, etc. The Group Discussion and the Personal Interview shall each carry a maximum of 50 marks. The minimum qualifying marks for the Group Discussion and for the Personal Interview would be 50% marks each for Unreserved (General) Category Candidates and will be relaxed to 45% marks each for Reserved Category Candidates, where the posts have been identified as reserved for the Reserved Category Candidates. Candidates belonging to the Reserved Categories applying for Unreserved (General) Category posts will have to qualify on General Standards and without relaxation in the qualifying norms.
Note: Depending upon the nature of the post, qualification & experience prescribed and also the number of applications received, the Bank reserves the right to decide as to whether the Group Discussion & Personal Interview should be held or only a process of Personal Interview be prescribed for selection.
5. Non-Refundable Application Fee & Postage Charges:
Applicants are required to submit separate application fees, as stated below, along with separate Application Forms and documents, for each post applied.

The fees for each post should be sent by a separate Demand Draft / Pay Order only, Payable at Mumbai, having a validity of 6 months from the date of issue, and drawn favouring “Union Bank Recruitment Project”. On the reverse of the Demand Draft/Pay Order (1) Candidate’s Name, (2) Post Name & Post Code, (3) Date of Birth and (4) Candidate's Address should be written.
Please note that Application Fees by way of Cash, Cheques, Money Orders, Indian Postal Orders, Postal Stamps, etc., will not be accepted and the Application will be Summarily Rejected.
An Application once made will not be allowed to be withdrawn and the Fees once paid will NOT be refunded on any account nor can it be held in reserve for any other examination or selection. Before Applying for any Post the Candidate should Ensure that He / She Fulfils each of the Eligibility Criteria and Other Norms Mentioned in this Advertisement.
6. Probation:
The selected candidates, other than those taken up on contract, will be on Probation for a period of 2 years of active service from the date of their joining the Bank.
7. Action against Candidates Found guilty of Misconduct:
Candidates are advised in their own interest that they should not furnish any particulars that are false, tampered, fabricated or should not suppress any material information while filling up the application form and submitting the attested copies of testimonials.
At the time of Group discussion & /or Personal Interview, if a candidate is (or has been) found guilty of:
i) Using unfair means during the selection process, or
ii) Impersonating or procuring impersonation by any person, or
iii) Misbehaving in the Group Discussion & / or Personal Interview Hall, or
iv) Resorting to any irregular or improper means in connection with his / her candidature, or
v) Obtaining support for his/her candidature by any means,such a candidate may, in addition to rendering himself/herself liable to criminal prosecution, be liable:
- to be disqualified from the selection process for which he / she is a candidate;
- to be debarred, either permanently or for a specified period, from any examination or recruitment conducted by the Bank.
9. Competent Authority for issue of the Certificates to SC / ST / OBC / PWD Candidates:
(i) For SC / ST / OBC Candidates:
(a) District Magistrate / Additional District Magistrate / Collector / Deputy Commissioner / Additional Deputy Commissioner / Deputy Collector / 1st Class Stipendiary Magistrate / Sub-Division Magistrate / Taluka Magistrate / Executive Magistrate / Extra Assistant Commissioner.
(b) Chief Presidency Magistrate / Additional Chief Presidency Magistrate / Presidency Magistrate.
(c) Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tahsildar.
(d) Sub-Divisional Officer of the area where the candidate and/or his family normally resides.
(ii) For Persons With Disability / Physically Challenged Candidates:
The Authorised Certifying Authority will be the Medical Board at the District level. The Medical Board will consist of a Chief Medical Officer, a Sub-Divisional Medical Officer in the District and an Orthopaedic Surgeon.
