Eligibility Criteria for Union Bank Recruitment Project 2007
2. Eligibility Criteria:
(i) Nationality / Citizenship:
A candidate must be either (i) a Citizen of India or (ii) a subject of Nepal or (iii) a subject of Bhutan or (iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st Jan. 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Govt. of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination &/or interview but on final selection the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.
(ii) Subject to their fulfilling the eligibility criteria, employees of Union Bank of India may also apply through proper channel for the aforesaid posts. Such candidates, if selected, shall resign from their present positions in the bank and re-join the Bank’s service afresh.
(iii) Educational Qualifications & Post-Qualification Work Experience :
(a) The Educational Qualifications prescribed for the post is the minimum. Candidates must possess these qualifications as on 31.07.2007 (inclusive) and must attach proof thereof, i.e., attested photocopies of (1) University Final Degree Passing (Convocation) Certificate. (Provisional Degree Passing Certificate will be accepted only in case of those who have passed the examination during the last 1 year) & (2) Year-wise / Semester-wise Mark sheet for each year/semester from the educational institution they have studied, and (3) Computer Course Passing Certificate from a recognised Computer Training Institute in support of having completed the Computer Awareness & Office Automation Course for duration of minimum 60 hours. The requirement of having completed the Computer Awareness & Automation Course will be waived in case of those Graduates having Computer Awareness or Knowledge as part of the curriculum at the Degree level and this fact should be indicated in the Application Form and also evidenced by an entry of the subject highlighted in the relevant Mark Sheet which should be attached to the Application Form. Applications not fulfilling this criterion will be summarily rejected.
(b) The Percentage of Marks stipulated for the Educational Qualification for each post is for General Category Candidates. Candidates belonging to the Reserved Category (SC / ST / OBC / PWD), filling in vacancies reserved for the relevant category, will be entitled to a relaxation of 5% Marks in relation to that stipulated for General Category Candidates. Candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC categories filling in “unreserved” vacancies will not be entitled to the above referred relaxation.
(c) For posts where Work Experience is essential / desirable, it should be full time, relevant to the post applied for, and should be post-qualification, i.e., it will be counted from the date of acquiring the prescribed qualification till 31.07.2007 (inclusive).
3. Post-wise Requirements & Terms & Conditions:
(1). Post Code - 01 : Vice President - Loan Syndication
Educational Qualifications for Union Bank Vice President Exam:
Post Graduate MBA Degree in Finance, with 50% marks in the aggregate, from a reputed UCG recognised University; or 50% marks in the aggregate at the M.Com. /B.E. / B. Tech Degree level, from a reputed UCG recognised University / AICTE accredited Institution, where the candidate has hands-on experience of a minimum of 5 years in independently handling assignments of Loan Syndication in Term Lending Institutions / Project Lending Division of leading Banks. (2) Certificate for having completed Computer Awareness & Office Automation Course for duration of minimum 60 hours from a Computer Training Institute.
Having a legal background will be an added qualification.
Work Experience:
Post-Qualification work experience of a minimum of 5 years in Loan Syndication / Company Affairs, in the capacity equivalent to the rank of Chief Manager (SMGS-IV) or Assistant General Manager (SMGS-V) in a Project Lending Division of a leading Bank or Term Lending / Project Finance Institution.
Job Content:
The candidate shall be heading and guiding a team of Senior Officers for establishing the Loan Syndication Division, identify growth areas and drive business growth, maintain rapport with like-minded Banks and Financial Institutions, lay down policy framework, and oversee implementation and monitoring of the Division under the overall policy framework of the Bank. He / She will be located at the Bank's Central Office at Mumbai and will be reporting to the Bank's Executive Director & CMD.
Tenure of Engagement:
On Contract, initially for a period of 3 years, to be reviewed and renewed on the basis of performance at the discretion of the Board of Directors of the Bank.
