State Bank of India Mumbai Recruitment 2009 Selection Procedure

The selection of the candidates will be mainly on the basis of short-listing and interviews. However, the Bank may, at its discretion, hold written tests for short-listing and selection.

The date of written test (in case of need) will be advised to the candidates by call letters issued to them. The written tests, where applicable, may be held at Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai centres.

The Bank, however, reserves the right to add, delete or allot any centre at its discretion. The details of the written test will be advised to the candidates by ‘Acquaint Yourself booklet’ to be sent alongwith the call letter.

Short-listing will be done on the basis of marks obtained in the professional examination viz., BE/B.Tech./MBBS etc., higher relevant qualification, work experience etc.

Abbreviations Used

  • SC - Scheduled Caste
  • ST - Scheduled Tribe
  • OBC - Other Backward Classes
  • PWD - Persons with Disability
  • XS – Ex-Servicemen

Notes:

  1. The maximum age indicated for each post is for General category candidates. Relaxation in upper age limit will be available to SC/ST/OBC/Ex-Servicemen/Commissioned officers/Domiciles of Jammu & Kashmir State/PWD candidates as per Government directives mentioned in point C of Other Instructions below, wherever such reservations are available.

  2. The number of vacancies including reserved vacancies as mentioned above are provisional and may vary according to the actual requirements of the Bank, however no vacancy has been reserved for Persons with Disabilities (PWD).

  3. Candidates belonging to reserved category including Persons with Disabilities (PWD), for which no reservation has been mentioned, are free to apply for vacancies announced for unreserved (General) category and they must fulfil all the eligibility conditions applicable for unreserved (General) Category.

  4. Whereas, vacancies for AMCE & AMEE posts are on all India basis and the candidates can be posted in any of the Bank’s offices across the country. For Medical Officer Permanent Part Time, the vacancies (number of vacancies given in brackets) will be in Gandhi Nagar (1), Jabalpur (1), Raipur (1), Chandigarh (1), Coimbatore (1), Madurai (1), Guwahati (1), Jorhat (1), Shillong (1) Ernakulam (1), Kannur (1), Kollam (1), Mullakkal (1), Palakkad (1), Thiruvananthapuram (2), Thrissur (1), Mumbai (2), Allahabad (1), Kanpur (1), Lucknow (1), Vishakhapatnam (1), Almora (1), Noida (1), New Delhi (2) and Patna (1).
