7. Emoluments:

PAY: Selected candidates will be on probation for a period of two years. They will draw a starting basic pay of Rs. 10000/- in the scale of Rs. 10000-470/6-12820-500/ 3-14320-560/7-18240 applicable to Junior Management Grade Scale I.

They will also be eligible for D.A., H.R.A. & C.C.A. as per rules in force from time to time. At present, initial monthly emoluments of Probationary Officers, including D.A., H.R.A. and C.C.A., are approximately Rs. 14,850/- at Metropolitan centres.

9. Associate Banks may arrange pre-examination training at certain centres for a limited number of SC/ST/Religious Minority Community candidates in consonance with the guidelines issued by Government of India.

Candidates belonging to the above categories who desire to avail themselves of such training at their own cost may indicate to that effect against the relevant column while applying on line.

10. Action Against Candidates Found Guilty Of Misconduct Candidates are warned that they should not furnish any particulars that are false, tampered/fabricated or should not suppress any material information while filling up the application form.

At the time of written examination/interview, if a candidate is (or has been) found guilty of:

1. using unfair means during the examination or
2. impersonating or procuring impersonation by any person or
3. misbehaving in the examination hall or takingaway the question booklet (or any part thereof)/answer sheet from the examination hall or
4. resorting to any irregular or improper means in connection with his/her candidature for selection or
5. obtaining support for his/her candidature by any unfair means, such a candidate may, in addition to rendering himself/herself liable to criminal prosecution, be liable:

1. to be disqualified from the examination for which he/she is a candidate
2. to be debarred, either permanently or for a specified period, from any examination or recruitment conducted by SBI.
3. for termination of service, if he/she has already joined the Bank.

11. How To Apply for SBI Probationary Officers 2008:

Candidates are required to go to any CBS Branch of State Bank of India and pay the amount of prescribes fees and get receipt from the branch. The candidates are required to apply online through website: www.statebankofindia.com and www.sbi.co.in. No other means/mode of application will be accepted.

The last date of registering applications is 14.06.2008. Application registration on our website will be open from 20.05.2008 to 14.06.2008.

Guidelines For Filling Application Are As Under :

Candidates should have a valid email id. This will help him/ her in getting call letter/ interview advices etc. by e-mail.

Candidates must ensure that on deposit of fee, the branch issues him a receipt which should invariably mention undernoted items :-

1. Journal number (7-10 digits)
2. Branch Name
3. Branch code number and
4. Date of deposit

The payment of fees should be made on or before the 14.06.2008. This date will be same for the candidates belonging to far-flung areas.

Candidates should keep a copy of the Application printout and Payment Receipt (Deposit Journal No.) for their record. An 'Acquaint Yourself' booklet will be sent to the candidates along with the call letter for written test.

Candidates serving in Government/Quasi Government offices, Public Sector undertaking including Nationalised Banks and financial Institutions will be required to submit 'No Objection Certificate' from the employer at the time of interview, failing which their candidature may not be considered and travelling expenses, if any, otherwise admissible, will not be paid.

Original payment receipt will have to be submitted with the call letter at the time of written examination.

The reserve category candidate will have to produce his/her original caste certificate/ relevant certificates at the time of interview, failing which his/her candidature shall be cancelled and he/she will not be admitted for interview. OBC candidates, availing reservation will have to produce OBC certificate with Non-creamy layer clause issued on or after 01.04.2008 at the time of interview.

Note: The Bank would be analyzing the responses of a candidate with other appeared candidates to detect patterns of similarity. On the basis of such an analysis, if it is suspected that the responses have been shared and scores obtained are not genuine/valid, the Bank reserves the right to cancel his/her candidature.

12. Any legal proceedings in respect of any matter of claim or dispute arising out of this advertisement and/or an application in response there to can be instituted only in Mumbai and courts/ tribunals/ forums at Mumbai only shall have sole & exclusive jurisdiction to try any clause/ dispute.
