Oriental Bank of Commerce Recruitment 2010 General Instructions

  1. The OBC Bank takes no responsibility for any delay in receipt or loss in postal transit of or communication.
  2. As the Oriental Bank of Commerce applications are to be processed by a computerized system, it is essential that all the mandatory fields are filled and up-loading of the recent passport size photograph. Hard copy of the OBC application form will not be accepted.
  3. Before applying for any post the candidate should ensure that he / she fulfills the eligibility and other norms mentioned in this advertisement.
  4. Decision of OBC Bank in all matters regarding eligibility of the candidate, the stages at which such scrutiny of eligibility is to be undertaken, the documents to be produced for the purpose of the conduct of examination, interview, selection and any other matter relating to OBC recruitment will be final and binding on the candidate. No correspondence or personal enquiries shall be entertained by the Bank in this behalf.

  5. The candidates must submit the attested photocopies of all the certificates in support of their educational qualification, experience, date of birth and caste / handicap (if any) alongwith the copy of the online OBC application form at the time of interview.
  6. The candidate belonging to SC / ST / OBC / PC category must attach an attested photocopy of SC / ST / OBC / PC certificate, issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format as prescribed by the Government of India.
  7. In case of candidates belonging to OBC category, the certificate inter-alia must specify that the candidate does not belong to Creamy Layer section excluded from the benefits of the reservations for Other Backward Classes in Civil Post & Services under Government of India. OBC Certificate should not be more than one year old as on the date of OBC application form.

  8. Physically Challenged candidates claiming the benefit of reservations / age relaxation should submit a copy of Medical Certificate as specified in the Persons with Disabilities Act of 1995 in support of their disability.
  9. In case it is detected at any stage of Oriental Bank of Commerce recruitment that a candidate does not fulfill the eligibility norms and / or that he / she has furnished any incorrect / false information / certificate / documents or has suppressed any material fact (s), his / her candidature will stand cancelled.
  10. If any of these shortcomings is / are detected even after appointment, his / her services are liable to be terminated.

  11. An OBC application form without requisite OBC application form fee, OBC Application Form once made will not be allowed to be withdrawn and fee once paid will not be refunded on any account nor would this fee be held in reserve for any future examination or selection.
  12. The candidates will have to appear for interview at their own expense. However, eligible SC / ST outstation candidates attending the interview will be reimbursed to and fro second (sleeper) class rail / bus fare by the shortest route on production of evidence of travel.
  13. Candidates serving in Government / Public Sector Undertakings (including banks) should submit their online OBC application form and produce a No Objection Certificate from their employer at the time of interview, in absence of which, their candidature may not be considered. Only candidates willing to serve anywhere in India should apply.
  14. Any request for change of address will not be entertained.
  15. Any resultant dispute arising out of this advertisement shall be subject to the sole jurisdiction of the courts situated at NCT of Delhi.
  16. The Bank takes no responsibility to connect any certificate / remittance sent separately.
  17. In case any dispute arises on account of interpretation in version other than English, English version will prevail.
  18. Appointment of selected candidates is subject to his / her being declared medically fit as per the requirement of the OBC Bank. Such appointment will also be subject to the Service & Conduct Rules of the OBC Bank.
  19. The confirmation of the selected candidates in the bank shall be subject to the receipt of satisfactory report regarding character and antecedents from the Police authorities. In case of negative report from Police authorities, the services of the appointed candidates shall be terminated forthwith without assigning any reason.
  20. The banking is a versatile activity, which needs all round grooming of the selected candidates. Accordingly, the specialist officers, recruited / selected in the bank will be required to inculcate overall knowledge of various facets of the banking for which the bank will provide necessary on-the-job / theoretical training in Staff Training College etc., so as to make specialist recruitees to undertake all type of banking activities.

Action Against Candidates Found Guilty of Misconduct:

Candidates are advised in their own interest that they should not furnish any particulars that are false, tampered, fabricated or should not suppress any material information while filling up the online OBC application form.

At the time of OBC interview, if a candidate is (or has been) found guilty of:

  1. Resorting to any irregular or improper means in connection with his / her candidature by selection (or)
  2. Obtaining support for his / her candidature by any means, such a candidate may in addition to rendering himself / herself liable to criminal prosecution, be liable.
  1. To be disqualified from the OBC recruitment process for which he / she is a candidate.
  2. To be debarred, either permanently or for a specified period, from any examination or Oriental Bank of Commerce recruitment conducted by Bank.

The Competent Authority for the Issue of the Certificate to SC / ST / OBC / PC is as Under:

a) For SC / ST / OBC:

  1. District Magistrate / Additional Distt. Magistrate / Collector / Deputy Commissioner / Additional Deputy Commissioner / Deputy Collector / 1st Class Stipendary Magistrate / Sub-Division Magistrate / Taluka Magistrate / Executive Magistrate / Extra Assistant Commissioner.
  2. Chief Presidency Magistrate / Additional Chief Presidency Magistrate / Presidency Magistrate.
  3. Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar.
  4. Sub-Divisional Officer of the area where the candidate and / or his family normally resides.

b) For Physically Challenged:

Authorised certifying authority will be Medical Board duly constituted by the Central or the State Government consisting of atleast three members out of which atleast one shall be a specialist in the particular field of disability from which the person is suffering.
