Karnataka Grameena Bank Exam 2009 Selection Procedure

The selection of the candidates shall be made on the basis of written test and interview,

a. Written Test, 60 marks:

All the eligible candidates who apply with the requisite fee and whose duly completed applications are received in time will be called for a written test, which will be of Objective type comprising:

  1. Title of Paper: Test of reasoning No.of questions: 50 Max.marks: 50
  2. Title of Paper: Quantitative Aptitude No.of questions: 50 Max.marks: 50
  3. Title of Paper: Test of general awareness No.of questions: 50 Max.marks: 50
  4. Title of Paper: Test of English Language No.of questions: 50 Max.marks: 50 Duration: Composite Time of 2 hours 30 minutes

The total marks in the written examination will be converted from 200 into out of 60.

Note:

  1. Marks obtained in the written test will be reckoned for merit ranking. Depending upon the number of vacancies, only those candidates who rank sufficiently high in the written test will be called for interview in the ratio of 1 : 4. Mere eligibility/ pass in the test shall not vest any right for being called for interview.Candidates belonging to SC/ST category will be extended relaxation upto 5% in qualifying marks in written examination. The detailed information regarding the written test will be given in the "Acquaint yourself booklet which will be sent to the candidates along with the call letter for written examination.
  2. Bank reserves the right to hold second stage written examination if required, on the basis of the order of merit in written examination of first stage as above. If so, the subsequent process of interview and further process would be on the basis of order of merit secured in second stage examination.
  3. The agency for conducting written test is IBPS, Mumbai.

b. Interview - 40 marks:

The candidates shall secure a minimum of 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ST) in interview.

Final selection will be on the basis of ranking accorded after adding the marks obtained in the written test and interview, subject to securing minimum marks in interview as stated above.

Test Centers and date of Examination:

The written test is tentatively fixed on 24.05.2009 at the following centres.

Centres:

  1. Dharwad - Code - 11
  2. Bijapur - Code - 12
  3. Belgaum - Code - 13
  4. Udupi - Code - 14

Pay Scale: Rs.10000 - 470/ 6 -12820 - 500/3 -14320 - 560/ 7-18240

Note: DA, HRA Medical aid, LTC, Gratuity, will be admissible as per Bank rules.

Probation: 2 to 3 years
