Canara Bank Recruitment 2009 Eligibility

All the eligibility [qualification, experience, age etc] shall be computed as on 01.01.2009.

Post Code-1: Probationary Clerks

a) Qualification:

Pass in 10+2 with 60% [SC/ST/PWD candidates – 55%] OR a pass in Graduation.

Should have studied the local language of the State for which he/she is applying (as I/II/III language) either at SSLC/SSC or 10+2 or Graduation level.

b) Job Profile:

General Banking, House keeping etc and any other work assigned by the Bank from time to time.

Post Code-2: Probationary Officers [JMGS-I]:

a) Qualification:

Graduation with First Class-with 60% [SC/ST/PWD candidates – 55%].

b) Job Profile:

General Banking, House keeping etc and any other work assigned by the Bank from time to time.

Post Code-3: Investment Officers [on Contract]

a) Qualification:

A Graduate in any discipline, preferably with MBA, and having flair for marketing the Insurance, Mutual Fund and other products of the Bank.

Candidate should possess the following:

  • Passion for Marketing
  • Work independently and also with team
  • Computer literacy
  • Good communication skills

Preference will be given to those candidates who have prior experience in marketing / insurance business.

Since the job involves extensive travelling, candidates should have good physical fitness and ready to accept the challenges & meeting the targets.

b) Job Profile:

Marketing the Insurance, Mutual Fund and other products of the Bank. Responsible for end-to-end sales. Any other work assigned by the Bank from time to time.

c) Period of Contract:

Three [3] years with an option to extend for two years at the discretion of the Bank.

d) Compensation:

Fixed Pay:

Rs.15000/- per month subject to achievement of minimum threshold premium of Rs.1 lakh per month i.e., Rs.12 lakhs per annum.

  • Basic: Rs.10,000/-
  • HRA: Rs.2,500/- [25% Basic]
  • Conveyance: Rs.1,500/- [15% Basic]
  • Medical Aid: Rs.1,000/- [10% Basic]

Variable Pay:

Over and above the threshold limit, he/she will be entitled for variable pay and the variable pay is equivalent to 15% of the commission received by the Bank.

The contract appointees, who fail to achieve performance with a minimum target-premium of Rs.3.00 lakhs per quarter, consecutively for two quarters, beginning from the second quarter of their appointment shall cease to continue as contract appointees of the bank from the last day of the month from the end of the second quarter under review.

However, if any candidate fails to achieve minimum threshold limit of Rs.3 lakhs in any quarter, Bank reserves right to break the contract.

e) Other Benefits:

  • Casual Leave – 10 days per calendar year
  • Annual Leave- 20 days in a calendar year

The Annual Leave can be encashed to the extent of 50% every year. Carry over of unavailed casual/annual leave shall not be permitted.

Post Code-4: Official Language Officer [JMGS-I]:

a) Qualification:

Essential:

  1. First Class / equivalent Grade with 60% in Graduation and MA (Hindi Language & Literature) with English as a subject at Degree Level.
  2. Knowledge of operating Hindi / Bilingual packages in MS Office applications.

Desirable: PG Diploma in Translation.

b) Experience:

Desirable: Translation from English-Hindi and vice versa, preferably relating to functional Hindi.

c) Job Profile:

Implementation of Official Language in the Bank. Attending to translation work.

Post Code-5: Manager – Security [MMGS-II]:

a) Qualification:

Graduation or any equivalent qualification.

b) Experience:

An Officer with 5 years of commissioned service in Army / Navy / Airforce and not below the rank of Captain or equivalent or an Officer of identical rank in Para Military Forces with 5 years experience.

c) Job Profile:

Monitoring Security and Fire Safety of the Bank; Liaisioning with Police & other Security Officials; Training Armed Guards etc.

Post Code-6: Manager Law [MMGS-II]:

a) Qualification:

First Class / equivalent Grade with 60% in Graduation and BL / LLB / LLM. OR First Class / equivalent Grade in BL / LLB (5 years course).

b) Experience:

5 years at BAR council as an Advocate or as on Officer in the legal department of Central / State Government or a Public Sector Organisation OR 5 years experience as a member of a State Judicial Services is essential.

c) Job Profile:

Candidates should possess adequate knowledge in various legal matters relating to Banking Laws, Labour Laws, Civil Laws, Tax Laws, Service Matters, Criminal Laws, Procedural Laws, Information Technology Laws, Company Laws, etc.

Post Code-7: Manager – Computer Programmer [MMGS-II]:

a) Qualification:

First Class / equivalent Grade with 60% in BE / B Tech (Computer Science / Information Technology / Electronics) or equivalent / MCA or B Level Certificate of DOEACC Society.

b) Experience:

2 years experience in Software Development / Testing and Maintenance of Packages in ORACLE / D2K / UNIX / VB / WINDOWS / FOXPRO / COBOL / C / Dot Net / Crystal Reports / Business Objects is essential. Candidates having work experience in Banks / Financial Institutions are preferred.

c) Job Profile:

Software development, Database Management, Testing & Documentation.

Post Code-8: Senior Manager – Chartered Accountant [MMGS-III]

a) Qualification:

First Class / equivalent Grade with 60% in Graduation and CA. Candidates having additional qualification of ICWA are preferred.

b) Experience:

3 years experience in Banking / Finance / Corporate Houses / Reputed Chartered Accountant Firms / Reputed Financial Consultants is essential.

c) Job Profile:

Costing & Pricing; Periodic review of service charges / tariffs; Monitoring Customer & Product Profitability; Cost Benefit / Break Even Analysis; BPLR estimations etc.

Techno Economic Feasibility studies of Industrial and Infrastructure Projects; Lead Generation activities / Marketing of syndication business; rehabilitation packages for industrial units under purview of CDR; Post sanction monitoring of projects; Data Mining etc.

Note:

  1. All the qualifications mentioned should be from a recognized University / Institution.
  2. For the posts where experience is essential / desirable, it should be full time in the relevant field of the post applied for and such experience shall be counted only from the date of acquiring the prescribed qualification.

All other Posts except for Investment Officer on contract:

Computer Literacy: Operating computer systems in MS-DOS, MS Windows, Basic concepts of Networking & Connectivity, MS Office [Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.] shall be an essential qualification, which a candidates must either possess or acquire within 6 months from the date of joining the Bank.

Hindi Knowledge: The candidates shall acquire working knowledge of Hindi, if not possessed already, before completion of probationary period.

Dearness Allowance, HRA, CCA, Medical Aid, Hospitalization expenses, Leave Fare Concession, Conveyance etc shall be paid as per rules.
