Educational Qualifications for Allahabad Bank Clerical Cadre Exam 2008

1. Minimum Educational Qualification (As on 01.05.2008):

Note:

(i) Educational Qualifications should be from a recognized Board/ University
(ii) Knowledge of Official language of the State/ UT for which vacancies are advised and for which he/ she desires to apply is desirable.

1. Application Fee (Non Refundable):

Note :

(i) Application fee including postage should be paid by a single Demand Draft / Bankers' Cheque issued by a Scheduled Commercial Bank to be drawn in favour of" Allahabad Bank Recruitment Account Clerical Project" payable at Mumbai.

(ii) Candidate must write his/ her name, date of birth & address on the reverse side of the Bank Draft/ Bankers' Cheque.

(iii) Payment of application fee and/ or postage charges by Cash/ Cheques/ Money Orders etc will not be accepted.

(iv) Application once made will not be allowed to be withdrawn and fees once paid will not be refunded on any account nor can it be held in reserve for any other selection process.

(v) Demand Draft / Bankers' Cheque should not be dated before 31.05.2008 & after 30.06.2008 as the On-Line System will not accept such instruments. Even if Bank extends the date of on-line registration by one or two days, the valid dates of Demand Drafts will not be changed. Valid dates of DDs also remain the same for far-flung areas.

Selection Procedure :

(a) selection will be made on the basis of performance in the written test and interview. Merely satisfying the eligibility norms does not entitle a candidate to be called for written test or interview

(b) The Written Test will consist of Objective and Descriptive type. The Questions in Objective tests except for the Test of English will be printed in bilingual i.e. English & Hindi. The questions in Descriptive Paper will be printed in English only and the candidates will have to answer the Descriptive Paper in English only. There will be negative marks for the wrong answers in the Objective Tests. Objective test will consist of Test of Reasoning Ability, Test of Numerical Ability, Test of English Language, test of Clerical Aptitude, basic knowledge in Computer Literacy etc.

(c) Detailed information regarding the written test will be given in the booklet which will be sent to the eligible candidates alongwith the Call Letter for the test.

(d) Depending upon the number of vacancies, only a certain number of candidates merit listed in written examination will be called for the interviews

(e) Final selection will be made on the basis of the aggregate marks obtained by the candidates in the written test & interview and will be strictly according to merit.

Date of Written Test: 31.08.2008

Note : The date of examination is tentative. Exact date will be communicated to the candidates through call letter. The Bank reserves the right to cancel or make any change in the date of examination, if need arises.

Written Test Centers : The Written test will be scheduled at the following Centers address of the Venue will be advised in the Call Letter-

The Bank, however, reserves the right to cancel any of the Centers and/ or add other Centers, depending on the response, administrative feasibility etc.

The Bank also reserves the right to allot the Candidate any Center other than the one he/ she has opted for.

Pre-Examination Training:

It is proposed to impart free Pre- Examination Training to a limited number of Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/ Minority Communities /EXSM/ DXS/ DISXS on "First come first served basis" at Lucknow/ Bhubaneswar/ Bhopal/ Patna/ Panchkula / Hyderabad/ Guwahati.

Training centers may also be changed at the discretion of the Bank. An eligible candidate who wishes to avail Pre-Examination Training should fill in the relevant column in the application format.

All expenses regarding traveling, boarding, lodging etc will be borne by the candidate for attending the Pre- Examination Training programme at the concerned Training Center.
